Only God knew how on Earth you managed to get some sleep being shook about in that beast's jaws. You were both terrified, angry, and somewhat upset. You'd grown quite a liking to your other SCP friends. Was this lizard about to tear that all away? Even if it didn't kill you, was it going to keep you hidden away or trapped?

Well, you didn't quite know. You were asleep.

When you awoke it was to a cold floor and a horribly cold stare.
It was the beast.
Staring at you.

But instead of bloodlust, you only saw playfulness in its eyes. How a thing like this could be playful you could not quite fathom, but it was. What was making it so happy? The fact that it had succeeded in taking you away from your friends? The fact that it had kidnapped someone? Or maybe it had never managed to accomplish things like this and was proud of itself.

You prayed silently that there was something nearby. A needle or a gun or a loose pipe that you could maybe pull off or anything. Even a feather would be mildly useful. Okay, that was a lie, it wouldn't. But basically your point was that you would use whatever you got.
But it seemed that this place was empty. Just a white, bare room. That was absolutely wonderful. You had no way to defend yourself, it seemed.

The lizard thing continued to simply stare and as some form of self defence or maybe cowardice. Or perhaps it was just an easy way for the lizard to swallow you whole to ease the pain, or prevent it.
But it did nothing.
It just stared blankly.

Okay, now this was getting awfully awkward.

"Umm, hi...?" you managed to get out, awkwardness turning into confusion all of a sudden. Was this thing paralysed?
"Filthy... humans..." it rasped, jaw moving smoothly, or so it appeared. "They did... this..."
"It wasn't my choice to trap you!" you protested, seeing what 682 was getting at. You had no clue exactly what had happened to this thing but you recalled a brief explanation from the Plague Doctor, who seemed to have a good knowledge of all the things in this facility.
"They... did..." It appeared to be having great difficulty talking properly and you began to feel slightly sorry for it. That was crazy, you knew that, but you felt sorry anyway. The beast grabbed you with its filthy forelegs, claws digging into your back as it drew you close to its chest, almost like the doctor would minus the pain and minus the filth and minus the claws.

Honestly, it was sort of heartbreaking.

All you'd been doing to this poor thing was fighting it off, though fair enough you had good reason to, and all it seemed to want was some affection.

"I'm..." it paused, holding on tighter. "Sorry.
"I'm sorry." You replied after a moment, spreading your arms and holding the lizard.

And God, you felt so bad.

Mmmmmmm I'm sorry
I really am
This story can be so hard to write when I don't know what to write the next chapter about. I'd plan but when I plan my writing comes across short and dull. I hate it honestly. But I might write a very vague one

Once again apologies for both the wait and the short, stoopid chapter
I wanted the beast to be kind ish
But still wants to murder certain people dead for various good reasons
Well good reasons in his opinion
