Chapter 1:

The Unexpected Meetup

"Mommy! Wake up!" Katelyn yelled at me, throwing something. I groaned and opened my eyes to see my excited 2-year old bouncing around in her crib, getting impatient.

"Katelyn, wait a second. Let mommy wake up first."I said, attempting to clam her down, but she wasn't having any of it.

"No! I wanna eat!" She screamed. I have a feeling that she's about to have a temper tantrum. She gets that from her father. Where is he, you may ask. He's halfway around the world, probably touring. He doesn't even know she exists, which is not a good thing. We, ya know, 'did the thing', and the next day, he broke up with me.

(Flashback)

"Yes, yes, I know." Niall said as my eyes gained vision. He was talking to someone on the phone, and he kept running his fingers through his hair, nervously. Then, the memories came back of the night before. That was the best night I've ever had.

"No, I can't do that. That's not fa-fine. Okay, I'll do it." He said, and hung up the phone.Who was he talking to? He turned around and I tried to pretend I was asleep. Apparently he fell for it because he ignored that I was even there and started pacing back and forth across the room.

"How do I tell her? She'll hate me! I can't just come out and say it." He started. I stirred to make it seem like I was just starting to wake up.

"Good morning, Princess." He said, trying to hide the fact he was nervous.

"Morning babe."I replied. His morning voice was just so sexy.

" Uh, I need to talk to you." He stuttered. I nodded, suspiciously. Did I do something wrong? I sat up and he took my hands in his.

"Last night was amazing, but I'm breaking up with you." He choked out. It felt like my heart stopped, shattered into a million pieces, and all of those pieces fell all over the floor. I could already feel the tears in my eyes.

"Go." I whispered, barely loud enough for myself to hear.

"What?" He replied. I was losing my temper, and if he didn't leave fast, I was going to throw the closest thing to me at him.

"Go." I said a little louder.

"But wait, I can expla-"

"Go!" I shouted, " Leave my goddamn house! I loved you but apparently you don't love me back! Just leave!" I yelled, picking up my promise ring from the bedside table, throwing it at him. There was a lot more where that came from if he didn't leave soon. He quickly threw on his clothes, grabbed his jacket, and left my life.

The next three day were spent crying. Crying because he left. Crying because he didn't love me. Crying because I didn't even let him explain himself. That still haunts me, to this day.

Three weeks later, I found out I was pregnant. It felt like the end of the world, since I was only 16. Thinking back now, I'm so glad I kept the baby. And now, I have a little 2-year old named Katelyn.

(End of flashback)

I got out of bed and lazily walked over to her crib and lifted her up, putting her on her playmat. I had made plans with my sister Raina and her daughter Courtney, to go to the zoo today. I packed her diaper bag while she ate breakfast so I can get everything done before she gets here, because she's impatient.

"Hey Cass!" Raina said, as she just burst through my front door. She's the type of sister that has no sense of personal space. In her arms, she held Courtney, the blue-eyed brunette whose smile was the cutest.
