Chapter 17: Resolving Problems

(Liam's POV)

What the Hell is Brittany doing here? How did she even get here? And what are the chances that she just randomly met Sean?

I think she set this whole thing up. My grip on Louis' hand got tighter, and he squeezed it back comfortingly. Everyone was completely and utterly shocked, and Cass was hanging on to Niall for dear life.

Brittany awkwardly cleared her throat. "Uh, hey guys. Niice to see you all again." She said, kindly. I glared daggers at her that she must've not noticed, and everyone else hesitantly mumbled their 'hello's'. Why was she being so kind to us?

(Cass' POV)

It was as if my worst nightmare had become a reality. There she was-the girl who kissed my fiance-standing next to my sister's ex-fiance. But, she's being so kind to us, which is suspicious. I'll try to look more comfortable around her, but I won't let my guard down.

"Hey, Cass. Can I maybe, um, talk to you in private please?" Brittany asked, shuffling on her feet. I nodded politely and handed Katelyn to Niall, but he was hesitant to let go of my hand.

I sighed. "Niall, I'll be okay." I whispered, and he reluctantly let go. I followed Brittany to a more private place where we could talk.

Brittany cleared her throat nervously upon entering an abandoned hallway. "Cass, look, I'm really sorry. For trying to take your boyfriend, for breaking you guys up, for everything. I need to stop doing this, because I think I love Sean. I realized that I don't need to take other people's happiness to have my own. I regret everything I did to you guys, and I was hoping we could be friends again?" She asked, practically begging. I nodded at her, a smile forming on my face. It probably took a lot of courage to say that, and I'm willing ot give her another chance.

"Yeah, I'll forgive you, Brittany. And I really appreciate you saying that. Can we be friends at least, and not sworn enemies?" I replied, and she grinned, nodding at me.

We exchanged phone numbers to keep in touch, and then decided to get back to the others. Niall was probably really worried about me, and I don't Raina feels really awkward around Sean and Harry at the same time.

Niall smiled at me when we got back, and I returned it, resuming my original position next to him.

Harry cleared his throat, awkwardly. "So, uh, Sean, how are you mate?" Wow Harry, way to get rid of the awkward situation.

Did you sense my sarcasm? -_-

Sean coughed nervously. "Well, we were just coming ny here to finish my last few hours of work, before we leave."

Raina took this time to get engaged in the conversation. "Leave where?"

"Brittany and I are moving to France to start a new life together. And our plane leaves in 3 hours, so we have to go soon. It was really nice seeing you again after all this time, and good luck on your marriage and children. Bye guys." He explained, adn they walked off.

Whelp. Guess that's the last we'll see of them.

But then again, that's alright.
