a brilliant disguise, but you can't escape the eyes

The team was a mix of confusion and shock as they contemplated what Reid admitted. "Wait, I thought Casey said that they were never convicted?" Garcia said, breaking the silence that filled the room. "They weren't, until 4 months ago when I looked into the case." Reid responded. "What do you mean by looked into?" Hotch asked. "5 months ago I found out that Casey and his parents were still putting pressure on the San Diego police about his sister's' case, so I offered the police some help with the case, which they gladly took, and I was able to find the needed evidence to put those guys behind bars." Reid replied simply. "And they just allowed you to take over their investigation." Prentiss stated unbelievably. "Casey's parents donate a lot of money every year to the police department, so they can get the newest gadgets and high tech computers. So they were desperate to find the killers of the daughters of the people who fund them." Reid stated.

"Reid you said that you were talking to Casey in the bathroom on the plane, right?" Prentiss pressed. Reid nodded knowing exactly where this was going. "Reid, do you guys know of a potential suspect?" Hotch asked. "No." Reid said, just as his phone started vibrating in his pocket. Everyone's focus was on Reid now as he fished out his phone, only to see an unknown number. "This is Dr. Reid." Reid said once he answered. "It's great to finally speak to the kid, who stole my brothers heart!" A gruff voice said. "Who is this again?" Reid asked, as he backed away from everyone into a corner of the room. "I'm Omar Sanchez." The man said. Reid's demeanor changed once the man identified himself. "Oh it's a pleasure to finally speak to you to." Reid smiled just as he walked out of the dead silent room crowded with his team, and down the hall into a vacant guest bedroom.

"Casey talks a lot about you guys as well!" Reid continued. "Hopefully nothing bad!" Omar chuckled. Reid didn't say anything, but he did laugh along with him. "So Casey told me you and your team are investigating those teen murders, along with the kidnapping of those two boys." Omar said. "Yeah, unfortunately-", "The boys who were taken turned out to be the younger brothers of those bastards who killed our sisters." Omar said interrupting Reid. Reid in that moment, realized how close Casey and his family were to the Sanchez's, because of how Omar addressed Casey's sisters as his own. "Exactly, and I already told them off, which didn't please my team." Reid admitted. "Well don't you worry about it. My cousin Diego, will be passing by there with information in an hour or so. It's not much, but Casey has stressed how smart you and your team are so I'm sure it'll come in handy." Omar said. "Great thank you! It'll help us find these guys faster." Reid thanked him. "No need Spencer, your family now and we always help family." Omar responded. Reid genuinely smiled at what Omar said. "I'm glad to hear that." Reid said.

Reid turned around, suddenly feeling a presence, and saw Morgan and JJ stood in the doorway of the bedroom. "I've got ago." Reid told Omar. "I understand, busy FBI business. Anyway, call me anytime you want Spencer like I said we are family now." Omar smiled. "I will, bye." Reid said, before hanging up. Reid looked at his teammates before walking past them back to the office. "Okay, Reid who was that?" Morgan asked, once they were all back in Mr. Bennett's office. "A friend of mine who lives out here, he's also friends with Casey, who must have told him I was here in San Diego." Reid lied. It was obvious to Morgan that Reid was lying, but he didn't push it since they needed to focus on the case. "Let's all go to the living room." Hotch said, causing Reid to frown. The team nodded and everyone exited the room, except for Garcia. "I'm very sorry for Dr. Reid's behavior. Now if you don't mind, we can continue asking questions." Hotch apologized.
