Levi woke up before his alarm clock. He laid in bed thinking about the day. He wasn’t sure how he felt about today. Normally, he would be excited that it was March 10th, his birthday. But today was a little different. Today he turns 18. Slowly he got out of bed and head towards the shower. Stripping down he got into the warm water leaning against the tiled wall waiting for the water to heat. Sluggishly washing his hair and body he tried not to worry about what the day would bring. He tried to trick himself into believing he would just get dressed and head to school. Check out some girls; sleep in some classes and head home, just like any other Tuesday.
Getting out of the shower slightly more awake dried his hair and got dressed. Walking down stairs he sat at the kitchen island waiting for his mom. As if on cue she walked around the corner carrying his favorite breakfast, chocolate chip pancakes with bacon.
“I am so excited for your baby boy” she gushed.
Levi tried to smile but he had a feeling it looked more like he was constipated.
“I know you are worried honey but I promise it will work out. You still might have some time anyway. There is not guarantee it will happen today” his mom said while putting his plate in front of him.
“I remember my 18th birthday. I was so nervous. I was almost sick to my stomach but it turned out to be the best day of my life” his mom said softly with that look of sadness deep in her eyes.
“I know mamma”
Finishing his breakfast he walked over to his mom and gave her a gentle kiss on the cheek, hoping to erase some of the sadness in her eyes.
“Now stop lollygagging around”
Levi grabbed his backpack and headed for his truck. Driving to school he tried to give himself a pep talk.
Grudging getting out of the car, Levi prepared himself for the possibility of meeting his mate.
Jasper’s POV
Jasper walked with his head down, keeping his soft blond hair covering his eyes. He weaved in and out of the groups of people stopped in the hall. Doing his best not to touch anyone or draw attention to himself. It really wasn’t hard to get by unnoticed. Jasper was 5’3 with a very lean build. His body was perfect for hiding. Making his way to his locker he saw one of his good friends, Casey. Casey was so pretty. She was what guys dreamed of. Well not Jasper since he did not dream of girls if you know what I mean.
“Did you finish the Spanish homework? Jasper asked.
Casey simply nodded her response preferring to talk about something more interesting. “did you hear one of the high ranking wolves turns 18 today.
Yea did I forget to mention that werewolves are real? Not Twilight giant dogs but true lycans walk the halls of his school. Honestly, for the most part the wolves kept to themselves and non lycans did to. The only time the lines crossed is when a mating is involved. When lycan’s turn 18 they are able to recognize their mate’s scent. Once a lycan finds it’s mate they both go into heat. The heat encourages them to mate right way. Yea, mate, you know what that means.
I don’t know how I feel about lycans I mean if you are one’s mate you basically have no choice in the matter. Not that the mates that I have seen really care, they all look thrilled. I guess it wouldn’t be so bad. Lycan’s adore their mates. Mates are spoiled and treated like precious jewels.
“who is it” I ask.
“Levi” she responds.
Just his name alone makes me tingle. Levi is a sex god. He is tall with blond hair and green eyes. His arms are thick and veiny, and thanks to sharing the locker room with him during PE I can attest to the fact that Man has been blessed by god from the waist down.
Grabbing the books I need for my first period I walk with Casey towards the B corridor. Casey’s class was next to mine so once I walked her do the door I leaned in to give Casey a quick hug and kiss. Just as I pulled my face way I heard a deep rumbling growl that echoed down the hall.
Turning quickly I turned to see Levi with an expression of rage on his face.
“MINE” he growled has he lunged towards me.
