You see that happy family well ..... That used to be just like my family.
The year was 1985 in the beginning I had a perfect life a perfect mom and dad a perfect apartment in a perfect neighborhood in Brooklyn .
That October I wake up to find out that my mom left. Over the next couple of months my dad changes into someone that I can't even recognize. He calls me horrible words and beats me . We end up moving to the worst part of Brooklyn ,hell, the worst part of New York East New York ,Brooklyn .
There my dad drowns his sorrows in alcohol and becomes a drug dealer. He keeps beating me sometimes to the point where I can't get up.
Luckily the neighbors daughter who was my age next door was kind enough to always take car of my injuries from my dad same.
Her name was Jackie Wilson she always brought her friend Andrea Castillo to help they never told anyone about my dad cause nobody would believe them.
Everyday since I didn't go to school one of the people who lived in the Apartments Ben Davis he had just gotten out of college when I arrived. He would home school me for free my dad would never know.
I only saw my dad at night when he would come home drunk sometimes he wouldn't come home for a week .
I was in that apartment for about 11 years till one day.......
My dad comes running through the door in the afternoon which made me very surprised.
" Get your ass up you filthy bitch we are moving all the way to Philadelphia NOW!" He says walking out of the apartment.
I quickly pack the little clothes that I have and leave.
I didn't get to say goodbye to anyone .
The drive to Philadelphia was weird cause my dad was sober now was the perfect time to ask him .
" Can I go to school I will get a job and pay for whatever but please," I say.
Surprisingly he said yes.
Present time
Tomorrow is going to be my first day of high school I don't know what to expect.....
