~Ryder~
Emerson Academy was a dark beast and we were right in its stomach. Adeline and I stole down the dim and musty hallway in silence. The rancid air invaded my nostrils as we got deeper and deeper into the beast. I missed steps two by two I was so worried I would get caught. Adeline froze in her tracks and turned to face me her eyes were icy as she spoke bluntly. "Don't you dare be a pussy, okay?" I nodded as we continued down. Suddenly footsteps sounded up the hallway. "Shit" she screeched as she nearly screamed "Just run right up the stairs okay?" I bolted up the stairs and pounded so hard my legs were burning. Adeline appeared behind me and started to laugh. "What's so funny?" I gasped out of breath. Her flaxen hair was planted to her forehead as she laughed "Don't worry it's only Sunny" I started to feel slight anger but she looked so beautiful when she laughed I pushed the feeling aside. Suddenly a dark haired boy of about seventeen appeared at the stairs. Adeline looped her arms around his neck as he drew her into a bear hug. A surge of jade green jealousy flowed through my body. Sunny extended his hand as he broke from the embrace. To a girl he might look hot but he looked like a asshole to me. His blue eyes were deep and his jet black hair glistened in the dim sunlight filtering through the dust swirls. I took his hand and shook it hard, harder than what would be polite. His mouth shrank into a grim line. Adeline laughed nervously in the awkward silence. "Okay..." She whispered. "Oh I think we should take this fresh meat to The Barrier."
"The Barrier?" I asked.
"It's our favourite haunt" Sunny replied bleakly. Adeline then led us out the door-with the aid of a bobby pin- and hopped into an already awaiting blue Mustang. Sunny motioned me toward the car. "Um...whose is this?" I muttered while sliding uneasily into the black leather seat. "It's mine" Adeline whispered shotgun. "What? But your fifteen!" She nodded. "Did I mention I'm rich?" I sat flabbergasted with my mouth agape. "No strangely you didn't" Sunny then looked over at me from the drivers seat. "Well I suppose you don't know he as well I do." I scoffed at that.
After about half an hour of ark ward silence we turned down a dank laneway. "Get out" Sunny spat to me then turned to Adeline and placed a place hand on her shoulder which slid town to rest on her knee which she pushed brutally away. As we both-she and I- slid out of the car. She led my down the brick laneway to a greasy looking door, which appeared to have no door handle. She gave it a half-hearted push before entering. I followed her and what I saw made freeze...
