Her POV.
"Did you see that guy at the New Year's Eve party? I didn't think anyone would want me as their New Year's kiss! Can you believe it?" I gush to my best friend, still swooning over the boy - no man- who chose me as his New Year's kiss.
I clutch my interlaced hands to my chest and lean against the locker wall. "Oh, yeah. I definitely saw him with you. He looked like a creep." My best friend's voice brings me out of my day dream. His voice is bitter and instantly puts a damper on my mood.
I drop my hands to my sides and my smile drops. "What's your problem? I was only having a little fun. It was New Year's Eve. It was a party. And it's not like it's serious, I'm not looking for a relationship."
"Of course not. You're just looking for 'fun' that's great. Go have 'fun' with Mr. Muscles!" He says swinging his hands up.
"You know what? Until I get my best friend back and not this jerk wad," I gesture him up and down with my hand, "you can go and fuck yourself." Turning on my heel, I leave him by the lockers, shut mine and briskly walk away.
"Asshole." I mutter under my breath. "Idiot." I hear him whisper to himself at the same time. Rolling my eyes I keep going.
Heading down the hallway I see the guy from New Year's. We lock eyes. He gestures me to come over, I do so. He loops my arm around his and I immediately melt under his stare.
My thoughts of my best friend and the fight fly out the window.
It's only a bit of fun. I'm not looking for a relationship anyway. It chants through my head. Don't search for a relationship. Don't go looking for drama.
