I ran outside my back door and told Red why she was there. He was okay with it if she stayed only until Christmas eve. I walked back in and told Hailey to lay down on the couch and put a blanket on her.

HAILEYS POV

I lay under the blanket and thought of my parents kicking me out for being me. My bleach blonde hair fell in my face while I thought about it. When I was kicked out my Hollister sweatshirt ripped because I fell down the steps. Then I looked at my leg underneath my torn skinny jeans. My leg had a cut from tripping over a log that probably couldn't go away. I was in seventh grade and a good girl. I shouldn't look like this. My Jordans were muddy. I remembered when I payed over two hundred dollars for them. I tried not to think of the past when my parents didn't love me. Well, they still didn't but I wanted to think they did. If only they did. I still had my phone though, my parents said they would always pay for that. That's how I've been finding my way around for fourteen days.

I finished my DIY when I saw Hailey asleep on the black leather couch. I wondered why she looked so torn up. She probably fell of of something. I just wished that I could help her with more than I have. He parents kicked her out. That was terrible. Hailey only looked like she was in seventh or eighth grade. She was tiny and super skinny. I wondered how long it had been since she had a real meal. She was probably eating grass or dandelions. I just wished I could feed her something or change things. I would give her food in the morning I was getting tired and climbing the stairs to go to bed
