Stories. Stories written by children, adults, elderly, and the deceased. About the world; plants, people, pets, and places.

Stories portrayed by people in plays, performed in poems and playlists. Passed on from generation to generation, preserved on pages by words, letters, pictures, and symbols.

Stories about our success and our defeat, from our imagination and our knowledge. About love and loss, adventure and disaster; the offspring of our imagination and creativity. A world away from ours, to share our deepest secrets and our worst nightmares.

Stories about our beliefs and fears, about diseases that could kill you from the inside-out.

Stories that lift us up when we feel down, about the journey not the destination. About the feelings written in between the lines.

Stories about hidden messages and meanings about life and death, right and wrong, the truth and lies.

Stories about building us up just to break us down again.

Stories; they never change. They're embedded on paper for years and years to come. We will read the same story tomorrow as we will in 10 years or 20 or 60. Never changing. We will pour our souls into the words that will never respond. That will hold us close when everyone else is so far away. They don't judge you because they know, you won't judge them, without knowing them. But knowledge keeps you closer, knowing that their words are true and their meanings are true.

Stories teach you the twists and turns in life, the ups and the downs.

Stories explain their experiences to improve yours, to help guide and enhance it.

Stories will stand behind you after every missed point or lost game, after every broken heart or broken bone.

Stories can become one of your best friends if you give them the chance. One of your people. They stick behind and stick up for you. Never questioning your 6 a.m. thought process. Give you knowledge you never knew existed, and let you express the hidden parts of you, the ones you don't want anyone else to see.

But stories are also just stories. A mess of words metaphors and other literary devices, printed onto paper.

Stories that are written by children, adults, elderly, and the deceased. About the world, plants, people, pets, and places. Stories portrayed by people in plays, performed in poems and playlists.
