THE SOFT HUM OF MUSIC PLAYED AS MAYA HART FLIPPED THE TEXT BOOK. Lucas Friar, watched her intently as she flipped back and forth from her textbook to her constantly vibrating cell phone. She sighed and ran a pale hand through her hair. She slammed her phone down, making Lucas jump.

"Do you mind looking somewhere else that isn't on me?" She snapped. He chuckled. If he's being honest, with Maya here, it's impossible to do homework. If Maya Hart was a subject, he'd ace that class. Or fail it. Depends on what day.

"Is Josh bugging you?" He asked. The last time he had dealt with Josh, it wasn't pretty.

A sigh escaped Mayas' lips, "No, yes, actually, it's Riley and Josh." Lucas raised an eyebrow. Lucas wasn't too keen on the two Matthews being together because it seemed like they'd pick at Mayas' life and make a joke out of it. Plus, she would do anything for the two, which Josh abuses. Lucas sighed.

"What's happening now?" He asked as he closed his text book and placed his homework and books onto the floor. Maya tapped her chin.

"What do you think Moral Compass? I stick up for myself and both of them decide to flip a shit at me." The junior spoke.

"If I'm honest, I don't like you and Josh together." Lucas said. Maya shot him a look.

"I don't think I asked for your opinion." She spat. Lucas raised his hands up in defence.

"Alls I'm saying is, yesterday you told me that you and Josh got into a fight. Which since you said, 'I stick up for myself and both of them decide to flip a shit on me'. I'm thinking that Riley got involved because she thinks that she can fix everything. So when she realised what your fight was actually about, which you have yet to tell me, she picked sides, and so they're both blowing up your phone right now." Lucas said making Maya widen her eyes.

"You creepy creep creep!" Maya yelled throwing a pillow at Lucas, which he caught.

"I'm not sure common sense and the ability to figure things out using context clues makes me a creepy creep creep but sure, let's go with that." Lucas said, sarcasm evident in his voice. Maya rolled her eyes.

"I just don't get what I did so wrong, you know? Josh can be going out to these stupid college parties, his neck all caked up in fucking hickies and I'm suppose to stay at home and worry." Maya said putting her textbooks and homework on the floor.

"Like I said before, I don't like you and Josh together. He treats you like you're his slave. You're suppose to swoon over everything that he does. Then he and Riley, Riley is your god damn best friend Maya, and they both poke fun at your life like it's some funny joke." Lucas said. He looked at Maya to see if any expression would appear.

"I like me and Josh together. And he doesn't treat me like his slave." She said, looking down.

"If he doesn't, then why can't you say it proudly and look me in the eyes." He asked. Maya stood up from the bed.
