"Daniel, it's going to rain today." Joey's clear voice was like a hot knife cutting through melting butter. He had a worried tone as he scrolled through search result after search result on Google of the latest weather and news reports of LA.

"Yes, Joey, I know. I checked the weather dearium, and I can assure you dearly that nothing will happen," Daniel replied, wrapping his arm around the shorter Joey's shoulders as they sat next to each other in a weirdly shaped, yet fancily decorated booth in a restaurant that was recently built. "Besides, it says it's going to be a bit of a heavy drizzle for a few moments and then it's passing by. Nothing to worry about."

Joey sighed, leaning into Daniel. A passersby gave them a strange look, however the two men ignored it, opting rather to watch a muted video of the current weather, which they would admittedly rather be safe at home, curled up in a blanket with each other on the couch and Wolf and Storm safely with each other.

"Daniel, I think it's about time we go home..." Joey murmured, glancing up at Daniel with a worried look on his face. Daniel, with not a hint of worry as to calm Joey, tilted the older boy's head up to look him in the eye. A quick peck to the lips was all the needy Joey got, and to that he whined, wanting another kiss.

Daniel smirked, pressing his cheek against his lover's. "Joey, just wait until we get home; you'll get your kisses then." To this Joey grinned, giving Daniel a kiss on the cheek and pulling out his wallet.

Daniel did the same and the two split the bill, gathering their things and heading out the door. Joey decided not to vlog, cherishing the moment as Daniel kept arm wrapped around Joey's waist. The two noticed it was surprisingly dark, however they shrugged it off; they found that normally, the only thing that was usually crazy about the streets of LA was how bad the traffic was.

However, that was normally.

As Joey and Daniel got into the car, Joey's phone buzzed violently and emitted an extremely loud ring, signaling an amber alert issued in their area.

As Joey pulled out his phone to check it, Daniel started the car, leaving it running for a moment to lean over and look at Joey's phone.

"A wrong way driver is near here, driving a silver SUV with purple lights on the bottom..." Joey looked at Daniel with fear in his wide blue eyes.

Daniel cupped his lover's cheeks and look him straight in the eyes, signaling how serious he was. "Joey, we'll be okay. I swear. Nothing will happen to us, and we'll be home in about fifteen minutes with Wolf and Storm." Joey simply nodded, choosing to stay quiet and watch the road, worry showing in his slumped posture.

The poor boy was worried out of his mind, glancing around every thirty seconds and running his hands through his hair. He'd tap his fingers on the dashboard when at a stoplight on red, flinching at every honking sound he heard as Daniel drove extremely carefully.

However, that just wasn't how it was meant to be.

One moment, Joey and Daniel were on their way down the interstate, carefully watching around them.

Despite their best attempts, fate decided against the poor boys; one moment they saw taillights and heard honking, the next they saw a blinding pair of purple headlights (Joey screamed), and finally they were surrounded with simply nothingness.

Neither of them knew where they were; floating in a seemingly endless black void with no surroundings, on the edge of life and death.

However, they returned to their senses a moment later, sprawled out on the pavement. Joey's torso was stuck under a crushed and caved in piece of the roof; Daniel was trapped underneath the flipped car and a piece of tire was crushing his hand, and their car was flipped.
