This is the last chapter from "Ninjago's Shadow." Just to freshen your minds...

"Leray?!" I can hear a voice calling my name.

I open my eyes. Rubble is scattered around me and ash is falling like snow. Everything is slipping in and out of focus. The voice calls my name again, it is louder and closer this time.

Looking up at the gray sky I see sunlight starting to break through the haze. I'm unable to move, barely able to breath, and I can't make a noise from my lips. I feel no pain but I know I should.

"Leray!" The voice shouts.

I hear feet skidding on rocks and someone running over to me. A face framed by blond hair, with shining green eyes appears over mine.

My vision swims into focus. "Love." I croak.

"Leray, come on. Leray please don't do this to me." Tears shine in the corners of Lloyd's eyes. "Hang on, I can help you. Just hold on a bit longer."

Lloyd unties the pouch from my belt and rummages inside. He even sticks his whole arm inside the pouch. "It's all broken." He gasps pulling his arm out. In his hand is bits of broken glass and a wet pulpy mess of mashed herbs and water. He throws it aside. "Everything is going to be okay. I'm going to take you to a hospital, you're going to be fine." He cups a hand lovingly on my cheek. "I can't lose you..." Leaning forward he presses a soft kiss to my forehead.

"I promise." I whisper to him as his green eyes lock with my brown ones.

Then I go limp, my head leaning into his hand. He hangs his head squeezing his eyes shut, tears faling down his cheeks. Then a strange feeling washes over me. Like I'm slipping away.

I see Lucy, my dear little Lucy, running toward me, with Mother Spirit following her. Coming for me. Mother Spirit's eyes lock with mine, and I think, I'm ready.
