Sabrina's POV
I wake up to the sound of people walking by me. I couldn't hear the usual taxi and city sounds though. It was weird, but I'm not complaining. My eyes were blurry, so I rubbed them, which did not help. I stood up and stumbled into someone. I opened my eyes, which weren't as blurry anymore. It was an older man, he wore a black top hat and round glasses. He pushed me away with his cane, a look of disgust on his face. Was he going to some kind of costume convention or something? I mean, what's with the old fancy-looking clothes. And the hat. Who the hell wears a friggin top hat. "Watch it, you little rat." He grumbled. I muttered an apology and he left, not even taking a second glance at me. Little rat? Rude. He looked at me as if I was garbage or something. I looked around and froze in confusion. This... wasn't the cold, dark, trashed alleyway that I'd fallen asleep in on the night before. This wasn't even New York. This place isn't even in the right century. All the fancy old-fashioned buildings, the way people people dressed. There weren't any cars. Horse drawn carts and carriages. Where the hell.... I looked down at myself, my ripped up skinny jeans, my dirt covered hoodie, my trashed converse sneakers. No wonder people were giving me dirty looks. I need to figure out where I am. And what year. I looked around, where a tall man was helping a young boy into a large carriage. "Hey!" I shouted at them. The boy looked at me confused, glancing at the man who was helping him. "May I help you?" The boy sounded annoyed, but spoke with a stern, confident voice. I nodded quickly. "Where am I?! What country is this? What year is this?" I asked quickly, all at once. Wow, I must look like a freaking maniac, my trashed, unproper clothes, not knowing what should probably be obvious. He's probably questioning my mental health right now. Dammit, I screw everything up. The man next to him had a straight faced, but seemed amused. "Hi I'm Sabrina Maxwell." I said quickly to break the awkward silence as they stared at me. "Miss Maxwell, I don't suppose you are from around here. This is London. Year is 18-" Before he could finish my jaw dropped and a squeak escaped. They looked at me like I was mentally unstable. I think I am. I am NOT in the 1800's. This isn't real. I'm gonna wake up soon, wake up to my normal crappy life of hiding and trying not to kill myself. I collapsed on the ground in shock and must've took a blow to the head cuz after that, things went dark.
