I woke up screaming in the middle of the night. My mom coming in and comforted me.
"Sweety everything is going to be ok, I know its going to be hard, but things will work out in the end."
I just kept crying. "Mom, but."
"Kathryn Ann I try, but you know I work a lot. He's gone and as far as I know he is not coming back. Its going to be a tuff road, but you will get through this. You can't keep screaming in the middle of the night and waking me up."
"Mom I can't help the dreams I have."
"Kathryn Ann you have to try." She through her hands up. "I don't know what else to do like if this can't stop I will just send you to dads stright tomorrow and he can register for the rest of your senior year that is left."
"Mom please! Please no. It will be so much harder if I had to go back there. I love dad so much, but I can not be there right now. It will be to hard to go back."
It was hard as far as I knew. My dad lives in Massachusetts. Two years ago he was a cop and ran and won for mayor. They told him he can come back and be a cop again once he is done being mayor. He lives in the mountains.
He likes it there. It rains there more then it does here. Its a little town called Portland. I live with my mother in Delware in a town called Edgewood. I go to school at Pleasant Hill High.
There is a school where my dad lives which is called Clear Lake High. His town has a population of 6,379 people. My mom is a nurse and she tries to be with me as much as she can. I turn and look at my mom. I give her a look.
She looks at me and puts her hands up. "Kathryn you know I love you, but this screaming every night makes me tired."
"I know mom I try, but its hard sometimes."
"Are you good to go back to bed?"
"Sure I'll try."
My mom left and I lay in bed and try to fall alseep.
Last summer I meet a boy named Jayce. I was at the beach with my friends I only see in the summer, but keep up with sometimes through internet and phone. He was just walking and I asked Kate who he was and she said they came here two years ago which was when I was fifteen. I remember I asked her why I never saw them here. She told me sometimes they keep to them self and don't come out all the time.
"Thats Jayce and the other one is Bailey and that one is Lucas. There mom is Collins she is a teacher and the dad is Mr. Collins hes the school nurse. They love there kids, but they do take trips. They end up doing the school work and everything though so the school never complains. I think its weird though."
"Don't we all Kate" Tina said.
Kate looked at me. "Its nice they take trips, but its like every month or every two months. Sometimes the parents just go on trips. I guess the school knows about that they have to go on trips and stuff, but come on."
I just nooded and kept stairing. Finally he caught my eye and I looked away blushing. Eventually I ended up at the beach one day by myelf just reading a book because the little coffee shop was two crowed for me. Jayce was there I didn't notice till he sat next to me and asked what I was reading. I showed him the book which at the time was Harry Potter he said cool.
He said to me your Kathryn? I told him you can call me Kat if you want all my friends do. we kept talking he told me his favorite color and I told him mine and he asked me why I was here and I told him. He asked about my family and everything. I asked him why he came her and he just told me my parents got a job here and wanted to start a new life here.
