Roman and I have spent every night together and with his wedding fast approaching, I know my time is limited in his bed. Roman was sound asleep on the bed next to me, I couldn't sleep tonight, the pain in my stomach unbearable. I stood, walking to the balcony, trying to relieve some of the discomfort. Looking out, I heard the laughter of the people floating up to me. I felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist, "Why'd you leave the bed?"
I stepped out of his embrace, running to the restroom in his room, and emptying the contents of my stomach. I saw him leaning in the doorway, his arms folded. "I'll send for the doctor."
I nodded, tears burning my eyes, as I realized what this meant. I had missed my course for the last two months, not really realizing it because of how many nights I spent in Romans room.
When he returned with the doctor, Dean and Seth came in with him. Dean immediately came over and covered me up, sorta glaring at Roman. "Livia," he whispered, "have you had your course."
"No," I responded.
He shook his head towards Roman and the doctor. I could see Romans frustration evident in his body language. Dean helped me stand, guiding me back to the bed, as I laid down, the doctor looked at Roman as he shook his head in agreement. "Livia, spread your legs for him," Roman instructed. I did as asked, wincing when he put pressure on my stomach. I turned my head so Roman couldn't see the tears streaming down my face. I felt the bed rise. I heard whispered exchange, and the door shut.
I heard him sigh deeply. "Livia, you know what this means?"
"Yes, I know your Highness."
"I'm afraid this is the last night I can spend with you, until you have this child."
"I'm sorry your Highness."
"You can stay here the rest of tonight, but in the morning, I will have no choice but to send you to the slaves quarters. I will make sure Dean takes care of you."
"Thank you, your Highness."
"I told you to call me Roman."
"It's easier this way," I said, as tears flowed down my face.
For the first time, Roman kissed me passionately. Burying his face into my stomach. "I love you," he murmured against my stomach. My hands tangled in his hair, pulling him back up to me, "I love you too, Roman."
He pulled me into his side, holding me, his hands never leaving my stomach. Even though my heart ached that I wouldn't be with him every night like he wanted. Sleep over came me, my eyes growing heavy, "Sleep my Princess, my love."
