2004年奥运上，参加气枪项目的韩国代表姜哲（韩文的意思是 "钢铁"）在第九局时失误落后其他选手，但在在最后一局的最后一秒射枪，奇迹般的取得了10.2的高分数，赢得了金牌。可是奥运比赛后，姜哲却选择放弃运动员的身份，投身电脑工程界。

2006年世界杯；姜哲一家在家里观赛，神秘人出现，将他们射死（太阳穴）。姜哲回家时只发现了爸爸、妈妈、弟弟和妹妹的尸体。警方在凶案现场附近找到了凶器—姜哲当年在奥运中使用的气枪。检察官因此判定凶手为姜哲，杀人动机是因为姜哲和父亲起争执。

法院最后因证据不足而判姜哲无罪，当场释放。尽管如此，无亲无故的姜哲受不了大众的歧视而选择跳河，自寻短见。可是，就在他正要跳下去的那一刻，他忽然打消了寻死的念头，他不甘就这样结束自己的生命。他想要找出凶手，为家人沉冤，也为证明自己的清白。他想逆袭。
