Chapter 6

*Zoey Saunders*

I sat on my bed and stared at the granola bar hesitantly. Should I eat this Nutty Chocolate goodness Romeo gave to me? I shook my head and put it inside the tin can. He was just so sweet to me… Why the hell was he so nice?

I stared at my huge pile of homework and came up with the next topic for my next note to R. My grades. In all honesty, he was kind of like my counselor, only I wasn't the only one benefiting from him, he was benefiting from me as well.

I reread his latest reply again, they never failed to make me smile the least bit.

My dear Juliet,

I'll always be there for you. Always. You don't have to worry, I'll help you get through with this. As for the promise you asked of me, I will. I promise you. Be strong. When you won't be able to, I'll be strong for you. I'll protect you. Just tell me anything you need okay? And about your parents… I'm happy I could help.

As always, from R

P.S. I hope you like "Nutty Chocolate Surprise" Can't live without food right?

(tiptoe and look up :)

He'll always be there for me.

I also wondered why he kept the paper I wrote on before… I wanted to keep it. I put in mind that that needed to be on my next note.

I randomly pulled out a sheet of paper from my old origami set I hadn't used in years. It was dark green.

"O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo?"

I don't really know, R, I just felt like starting with a dramatic phrase.

And anyways, this note is all about school.

Yes, I am absolutely failing. Literature is my best subject among the rest, and I'm just getting a C average in it. My life sucks, I know.

Thank you for the granola bar by the way. I do like that flavor! Are you stalking me or..? Haha, just kidding. But thanks, it obviously made my day brighter again. :)

This day was pretty boring compared to the rest. My dad was out the whole day, probably getting drunk if you ask me, and my mom locked herself in her room. I have a great suspicion though… I think they're filing a divorce behind my back. FINALLY!

Can you please bring back the note on the purple paper next time though? I'm actually keeping track of our history together.

By the way, got any tips in studying?

One last thing, don't forget to say sorry to that friend of yours! Don't try changing the topic ever again. Remember: This is on a piece of paper so it's almost impossible to change a topic.

<3 the stranger whom you call J

P.S. About that line on top… You care to answer that for me, my dear Romeo? ;)

I shook my hand really hard after writing all that. It was the longest letter I had written so far, and I was completely happy with it.

I did my daily routine of slipping out of my room once again, but that time I finally used the front door, my mom was still locked away in her room anyways. This girl was becoming happier and happier with each passing day,
