A/N - so this is an idea I had a while ago and I've finally gotten round to writing some I it ! It's slow, working progress and I'm not sure on the title at the moment. I would love feed back (constructive criticism is welcome.) hope you enjoy!
The short blonde boy walked shyly towards his assigned cabin. The hot summer day making him sweat with heat and nerves. John had never been to a summer camp before, he had been camping before with his father and sister, Harriet, but this was different. This time he was on his own and further away from home. The only plus side was that he didn't have to sleep in a cramped tent.
His cabin was possibly the smallest and was at the very back of the large woodland. He opened the wooden door and stepped inside. The cabin was clean but there wasn't much in the way of furniture. Just two small beds, a wardrobe, a table and a chair stood before him. John made his way over to the bed at the far end of the room-the one next to a small window- and placed his suitcase down. As he began to unpack the cabin door creaked open. He turned to face his new room mate. A dark pair of eyes stared back at him. A boy, no taller than John, stood at the door. His suitcase in front of himand a grin plastered across his face.
"Jim Moriarty, hi!" The Irish boy almost sung the last word as he extended his hand towards John.
"John Watson, nice to meet you." He said shaking his hand and returning back to his unpacking.
"Yeah you too John, I'm sure we will be fast friends." Jim sounded nice, and John couldn't wait to be friends with him. After all he seemed like he would be fun to hang around with.

"For the last time Mycroft I will not get out of this car! Drive me home immediately!" Sherlock Holmes crossed his arms and turned to face his older brother who was slowly losing his patience.
"No, I want you to do this! You need to be more social Sherlock you can't go the rest of your life not talking to anyone!"
"Not true. I talk to you and mother and Mrs Hudson all the time." Sherlock said, a trace of sadness in his voice.
Mycroft sighed "you know exactly what I mean. No get out of my car and go act like a normal child!" Mycroft leaned over the lanky boy and opened the car door. Sherlock swung his legs around and hauled himself out of the car with a sigh, slamming the door behind him for good measure.
Sherlock was given a map and his cabin was pointed out to him. He discarded the map as soon as he was out of view and made his way to his home for six weeks with out its aid. He opened cabin 221B's door and was greeted by a mess of clothes on the floor. As he walked in further he noticed a tall well built boy, slightly smaller than himself, laying on a bed. The boys eyes were glued to his phone and he didn't so much as look up when Sherlock arrived. Sherlock began to deduce the boy, a trick that he was rather proud of but didn't sit well with other people.
Sherlock cleared his throat, startling the boy.
"Oh.. Er hi you must be my room mate. I'm Greg." Sherlock ignored the hand that Greg had put out for him to shake and walked to over to the only available bed.
"You might want to clean this mess." He said dryly as he began putting his shirts in the set of drawers next to the wardrobe. Greg didn't know what to say the only thing running through his mind was 'what a dick' but his mother had always told him that if didn't have anything nice to say, then he was to saying nothing at all.
Mere minutes past and already the silence was unbearable. "It's lunch time, wanna come grab something to eat?" Greg said trying to break the tension, he also didn't want to walk into a large crowded food hall alone.
"No thank you, I'm not hungry."
"Oh come on man you look like you haven't had a meal in ages!" Greg was right. He hadn't. In fact sherlock wasn't even sure when he ate last, it could have been days, maybe even weeks since he last had food.
"Alright fine I will come with you," sherlock huffed "My name is Sherlock Holmes by the way."
"Great, let's go!" He bounded out the door, holding it open for Sherlock who walked past without a thank you.
The journey to the food hall was long and awkward and Greg was happy when it was finally over.

"Hey Jim we are like twenty minutes late for lunch, you coming?" John was putting on his shoes waiting for Jim to do the same.
"Yeah give me two seconds!" The small boy ran out of the bath room, his black hair slicked back with a ridiculous amour of hair gel.
The boys left the cabin and made the journey to the food hall where they talked about their favourite bands and games and what they thought of camp so far.
When they finally reached the hall they found it to be full of kids their age chatting loudly to one an other, they went over and joined the queue for food.
The screech of a microphone being held too close to the speaker brought everyone's attention to the small stand at the back of the hall. A woman stood at it, microphone in her hand and a huge smile on her face. "Good afternoon campers!" She said cheerily "before you leave I just wanted to introduce myself, I'm
Martha Hudson, Mrs Hudson to you lot ! And I'm a camp leader." She introduced the rest of leaders then let the children continue to chat and eat lunch.
John and Jim looked around for a place to sit. All the tables were gone apart from one, where a curly haired boy and a tall well built boy sat.
"Mind if we sit here?" Jim asked gesturing towards the empty seats. The darker haired boy rolled his eyes but it was Greg who answered. "Yeah sure go ahead, I'm Greg by the way. "
"Cool, I'm John and this is Jim," he turned to the only person who hadn't introduced themselves. "You are?"
"Sherlock Holmes."
