My dad later picked me up from the funeral home and he drove in silence. I broke the silence and began explaining how I saw my mother earlier and he shook his head slowly as my words unsurely came out my mouth. "Why are you shaking your head?" I asked in a firm tone, I knew what he was thinking. He thought I was a lier..that's why he left my mom. I wanted to hear him say it, the way his words shot me down before no longer had the same affect on me. Now it pushed me to make him trip over his beliefs. He slammed on his brakes just before the light turned red. And he looked over at me and frowned. "Why are you doing this to me? Your mother did the same!" As he spoke his voice got louder and firmer. A single tear fell from my eye, and with that I opened the car door and began walking. To where I'm unsure of but I will certainly not sit around and be bashed by my fathers hating words. I heard his desperate screams for me to come back. "FELICITY MARIE COME BACK HERE!" I turned around once as all eyes of the cars I passed stared at me. Suddenly a sharp screeching sound of tires scorched my ears. I snapped my head back to see what had happened. It was my father coming after me in his car. I began walking faster and walked into a Waffle House to avoid the trouble I was going to be in when he did find me, that is...if he ever does. I sat next to an elderly couple so he wouldn't be able to spot me through the window. A young man greeted me with a menu in hand and a smile plastered against his crisp, fake face. "Welcome to Waffle House would you like to try our new strawberry flavored pancakes?" Strawberry flavored pancakes? What the heck..."Ma'am?" he interrupted my thoughts with his impatient voice. "No thanks ill just take a breakfast platter with a iced tea. "Alright I'll be right back." he replied with a flick if his wrist to rip my order out of his notebook. I turned my head and looked out the window that was 3 tables away. No sight of my dad so I calmed myself, when I regained control of my mind I felt the elderly couple staring at me. "Sorry, something caught my eye." I lied, they slowly nodded and went back to eating their dishes. My mind went back to my waiter, where was he? I turned around and caught the waiter walking over to my table with my dish in hand, the same fake smile and clean shaved face. He placed my food on my table and I noticed his hand was shaking. "What's wrong with your hand?" I asked while directing my eyes on him. He glanced at his hand and grabbed it with the other "Nothing, why do you ask?" He was stuttering at this point. "No reason, you forgot my drink by the way." I talked while grabbing a piece of bacon not seeming to give a care in the world about what was wrong with him. "Sorry about that ill be right back." I lifted my eyebrows sarcastically and began to eat. A sudden clang came from the kitchen making me jump out of my seat. "What the-" I walked over to the back to see what was going on. To my surprise it was my waiter, he had dropped a glass of sweet tea on the floor and was against the wall holding his mouth in awe. "What happened here?" I asked while walking closer. "It wasn't me! Something's going on around here and it's freaking me out!" I looked to where the drink had fallen and spotted a young woman standing in the corner of the kitchen. When her eyes caught along with mine she gasped and vanished like my mother did. "I'm sorry to hear that, I suggest you go home and relax your mind a little okay? Ill take care of this." He nodded and ran out the back, this was NOT my job but I understood why he was freaking out, he just experienced a ghost phenomenon. I gathered paper towel and began cleaning up the tea.
