Aliya packed her clothes as she thought of her journey and how much she was missing her grandmother, Najla. She was already done with highschool and now getting ready to go to university.
Her friends were throwing a party for her downstairs but she was locked up in her room upstairs.
She heard a knock at the door and sighed heavily. A thought of ignoring the knock crossed her mind just when she heard Leila's screech,
"Aliya! Open up!"
She dragged her body lazily to the door and turned the lock. Leila came in with full force and gave her a suffocating hug.
Leila was Aliya's best friend, the most umderstanding one.
They sat on the spongy bed and leila started chattering endlessly about how much she'll miss Aliya and how much she wants Aliya to text her every detail immediately she reaches her grandmother's place .
Aliya just sat silently lost in a different world, not listening to a single word Leila was saying. Just then she heard another knock. Her heart beat to the rhythm of each knock. She was now fully alert. It was a unique knock, one that she recognized.
"Come in..." she whispered in a faint unsure voice.
