The Mad Mate

Betrayed

After morning classes is lunch as I'm walking towards my usual table outside Tori walks up beside me.

"They still haven't told you yet, have they?" She asks following met into step.

"Told me what?" I ask, curious.

"Who your mate is," she says, causing me to stop in my tracks and peer at my friends who already sitting eating lunch.

"What are you talking about?" I ask turning to look at her.

"Adam's your mate, and everyone is keeping it a secret," she says. "Don't feel too bad though everyone is keeping it a secret that Maddox is my mate, so we're kind of in the same boat."

"How do you know that?"

"I over heard it while listening in on a pack meeting," she says. "You know if your interested I was thinking about leaving this joint, I don't want to be in a place where I am constantly lied to. We could go out in the real world live with the humans, we're practically ones already. Just keep an open mind and tell me what you think."

By now my so called "friends" have noticed me and are waving me over. I peer over at them with hurt in my eyes and a disgusted look on my face. Then I run.

When I get home I run into my mom in the living room.

"Honey, what's wrong why are you home from school so early? Are you okay?" she asks peering at me with a worried look in her eyes.

"How long?!" I yell getting angry over the fact that she looks so worried.

"Sweetheart what's going on, what are you talking about?" she asks getting more worried.

"Adam's my mate and you didn't tell me! In fact no one thought to tell me since the whole entire pack knows and probably thinks I'm an idiot for not figuring it out! And you know what hurts most the one person in the pack that I don't trust was the one to trust me!" I yell.

"Honey, lis-" she tries to say but I interrupt her.

"Don't, I can't even believe you all lied to me, I hate you! I hate all of you!" I yell and run to my room and look myself in.

Ignoring all the cries and pleas for me to unlock the door and come out so we can "talk".

It's officially night and no one has succeeded in trying to get me out of my room and everyone had tried, and I mean literally everyone in the pack has tried but Tori, but I know she's not going to try, she's too busy packing, like me, since we're  leaving tonight forever and ever the only way we're going to come back is kicking and screaming. We're getting out no matter what.

It's one a.m. and people are still up hoping I'll come out of my room to talk. Little do they know I am leaving my room, but not to talk, oh no, I'm wait ing for Tori to drive by and give me the signal. I'm excited and nervous I can't wait to get out of her this isn't home anymore. Not my home, so, I'll run. And I'll find one. A home just for me. Just me. No liars. No one who can hurt. No wolves. Somewhere I can blend in and never be found.
