-in the asylum-

Hubert sat in the corner of the all-white room. It wasn't really much, there was a hard mattress in the corner and a chair for when the therapist came to visit. There was a large metal door with multiple locks in the other corner of the room.

His arms were restrained in a tight straight jacket, He was whispering to Himself as tears poured down His porcelain face. He was checked into the asylum because He was hallucinating, hearing things, He became deathly afraid of the dark and couldn't be kept alone . All of these conditions showed no sign of getting better, He seemed to only be getting worse and worse. The daily check ups from the doctors and therapists weren't much help either.

A nurse opened the metal door the slightest bit and said "its time." As she opened the door a little wider to let Him out. Two guards escorted Hubert down the corridor and opened a metal door letting Him in the room and shutting the door loudly behind Him.

The room had only a table and two chairs at each end of it and a light bulb hanging loosely from a cord . The walls were surrounded by cold stone bricks.

He took all of this in observing every bit of the room. All of the doctors had noted that he was an observer, when he was given something to look at he would inspect every bit of it. This was possibly the only sign of healthy sanity left inside him.

He moved the leg of the chair with His foot since hand motion was limited for Him. He moved the chair out enough for Him to sit. He sat in the wooden chair and waited patiently.

After what had felt like forever, a man with a rather long brown trench coat and a briefcase walked in. "good morning fella" He said cheerfully. All Hubert could do was stare ahead.

"alright than, i'm Greg" He said in a slightly less cheery tone as he took a seat. "you know hue, if you hadn't done what you did you wouldn't be here."

"what did I do?"

"you don't know?"

"no" Hubert replied.

The man chuckled and looked down. " I don't believe that." He said as he looked back up at Hubert and than said "how did we end up here?"

"i don't know, you tell me."

"i'm asking you."

"... It wasn't my fault... It wasn't my fault.. I-it wasn't m-m-my fault...i-t wasn't me.." Hubert said  as He looked down at his lap.  The inspector looked back at him with pity clearly showing all over his face.

-flash back-

Young Hubert around the age of 14 or so sat out side on the porch staring at the sunset. His stomach had started to growl but he knew if he went back in the house he would regret it. His mother was passed out on the couch with a bottle of alcohol in Her hands and flies circled around her and the couch. It was disgusting. Hubert reached into His pocket in search of money he pulled out a ten dollar bill and grinned.

He made his way over to Randy's one of his favorite food places. When He arrived at the place, the familiar smell of fries hit Him instantly. He walked over to the counter and ordered small fries a burger and coke. The girl working at the counter smiled and told him his total. He tossed the money on the counter and waited for his change. The girl handed him one dollar and fifty cents and a receipt. He turned around with his things and sat down at the nearest table.

"small fry burger and coke!" Another worker loudly said, Hubert got up and walked over to the worker and gave him the receipt. The worker nodded and handed him the tray of food.

-after 'dinner'-

Hubert walked through the door of his home. He placed his keys on the counter and made his way up to his room. he took his clothes off and sat on his bed. He sighed and leaned back pulled the blanket over his scrawny body and stared up at the ceiling. Thoughts swarmed his mind like flies attacking withered fruits. He felt a load of emotions weigh Him down.

He decided He couldn't go to sleep and instead wanted a smoke. He slowly crept towards His mother in the living room and slowly took a pack of cigarettes from His moms 'stash'. He walked out to the backyard and placed a cigarette in His mouth. He shoved His hands in His jacket and pulled out His prized lighter. He lit the cigarette and sat down near the dead oak tree. He leaned back as He let the cigarette smoke fill the cold dark air around Him.
