Scott's instinct could tell something wasn't quite right that day. The way Liam always pays attention to his surroundings and the way he jumps whenever a student drops his pen in class made Scott suspicious about Liam's state. The dark circles around his hazel eyes and his rather messy look revealed he hasn't had much sleep either. It was painful to see Liam mess up during Lacrosse practice and failing each class. Scott had to do something, he could not longer stand to watch his beta being stressed out and he knew Liam's rather tiny body was about to give in.

After chemistry class Scott saw Liam walking down the hallway. Liam's eyes were restless as if he was desperately looking for something or someone. As Liam wasn't paying attention to where he was going he bumped right into one of the drinking fountains. Small giggles escaped from the group of girls standing only a few inches away. Scott sighed and rushed over to check on Liam. He helped him get his stuff back together after he had dropped it all on the floor. Liam didn't say a word when Scott was offering his help and Scott didn't dare to start a conversation. Instead Scott decided to listen to Liam's heartbeat. His heart was racing, that's when Scott noticed Liam's heavy breathing as well. His breaths became shorter and shorter as seconds passed by. 'Somebody go get Stiles!' Scott shouted. Small drops of sweat started to fall down from Liam's forehead. His body collapsed and Liam couldn't move.

'I'm here! I'm over here!' Scott heard Stiles shout from the crowd that now had surrounded Scott and Liam. 'Let us pass, kids!' The gentle voice of the nurse exclaimed. Stiles pushed his way through the crowd and found Scott squatting next to Liam. 'What happend?' Stiles whispered to Scott. 'I don't know, I think he's having a panic attack.' Is all Scott could reply. Liam's breathing was still out of control. 'Hand him your inhaler.' Stiles urged. Scott's hands were shaking but he managed to grab his inhaler in no time. 'You're gonna have to help him take it, Scott. You think you're up for it? I'm guessing he never used it before so he could use your guidance.' The nurse said with a calm voice. Scott nodded and did as he was told. Liam didn't fight back and let it all happen. After his breathing went back to normal Scott and Stiles tried to get him back on his feet and took him to the nurse's office.

The bell rang and another period was about to start. 'I think I can take it from here, boys. Your job is done here.' The nurse said and gave both boys a soft smile. 'What's going to happen with him now?' Scott asked before leaving the office. 'I'm gonna do a little check-up and if everything is clear I will call his parents to take him home. Now don't you worry and get to your classes.' The nurse replied.

'Guess that leaves the both of us stuck in here.' The nurse said to Liam trying to sound a little understanding. 'Can you tell me what happend, Liam?' She asked a little concerned. Liam didn't make any eye contact and stared at the ground. 'Liam?' The nurse asked once again. Liam shook his head. 'That's okay maybe you'll remember in a couple of minutes. I don't see any mentions of previous accidents like this in your file.' The nurse continued. Liam raised an eyebrow at that comment. 'Accident?' He murmered to himself. 'I guess I got caught off guard by that drinking fountain, madam.' Liam said. 'That drinking fountain has been there since before your birth, Liam.' She replied while cleaning the abrasion on his knee. 'I was daydreaming.' He added, still avoiding any eye contact.
After she took Liam's temperature, checked his blood pressure and listened to his heart she called his stepfather. A couple of minutes passed by but no one answered the call. 'Buddy, I think we're gonna have to ask someone else to come pick you up. Any suggestions?' The nurse asked with a friendly voice. 'Melissa McCall. Scott's mom.' He said softly. 'Alright, I'll give that a try.' The nurse said while looking into Scott's files to find the right number.

Before calling she decides to do one last effort to get Liam talking. 'Okay kiddo let me tell you something. First of all I have been doing this job ever since I graduated. That means I have had plenty of boys lying to me and that's one thing I can't stand. How can I help you when I am don't know what's going on? Second thing you need to know is that whatever you tell me in this room will stay between me and you. Do you understand, Liam?' The nurse tried to convince Liam of speaking up. Each effort that she made got replied on with total silence coming from Liam. 'Liam...' She said with a look in her eyes that's expecting an answer to come from the boy in front of her. 'Look at me when I'm talking to you.' She says with a little more irritation showing in her voice. Liam does as he's told and looks up at the nurse. 'Alright, good boy..' The nurse says while trying to lay a hand on his shoulder. As Liam notices her hand almost touching his shoulder he jumps up and looks back to the ground. There's no way he can tell her the truth. There's no way he can say he's a werewolf who's scared of beserkers without sounding like he needs to be locked up at a mental health institution. 'I understand you're having a rough time and maybe it was wrong of me to touch you at this point. I have kept an eye on your behaviour ever since your friends brought you in and all that time I have been wondering one thing. I'm just gonna ask you straight away. Has anyone hurt you in any way? Just tell me.' The nurse said while she sat down next to Liam. Liam shook his head. The nurse gently grabbed his hand and squeezed it a little. She then picked up a card with her number on it from her desk and tucked it into his pocket. 'Just in case.' She said softly and ruffled his hair.
