It was a warm morning. lilly lazialy walked across the room to the porch of the apartment. Her parents still fast asleep. She let out a large sigh as she sprawled herself over the fold-up chair. Her throat felt partched but she didn't dare move. The sun felt warm on her exposed legs and arms. Staring out onto the nearby neighborhood she wondered what her life would be like. Her mother began the early morning routine of ordering her around.
"Lilly please make the coffee and don't make it so strong this time." She snapped. Lilly walked inside with a masked smile.
"Yes Ma'am."She said. Her father shuffling out of the bedroom hands over his eyes.
"Good lord lilly shut the blinds it's to bright in here." He yelped. Lilly rolled her eyes as she looked down to the floor walking over to the balcony door. Once she shut the blinds it became dark and gloomy with a single candle and a small lamp lighting to light the small space. She went back to brewing her mothers coffee with a sinking heart. Later that morning her mother sent her down the road to the store to buy food for lunch and dinner. It was like this her entire life. She couldn't wait to get the internet to talk to her online friends. She also couldn't help but be full of anxiety for school to start. The scars she carried in her heart was not much help with settling that anxiety. She came home to her parents fighting again. Her mother stormed over to her slapping her across the face. Lilly fell to the ground also dropping the grocieries.
"You are five minutes late and i'm hungry. Get in that kitchen and do your job for this family!" she barked. Lilly picked up all the tumped over grocieries rushing into the cramped kitchen. It was still very much dark in the apartment. After making the meals for her parents she scurried into her room with her phone. Lilly messaged her online friends and again pretending everything was just fine. SHe sobbed till her mind became a trance and she fell into a deep slumber.
