Prologue-How it All Began

Don't you wish you could go back in time and look at yourself and think "Wow, I really really shouldn't have done that." Yes, I think we all do. To go back in time and change everything. What you could've said, or done. Then later it changes your entire life. I felt this way for 5 years now. 5 FUCKING YEARS!!! School dances are fun right? Dancing with friends and grooving to the upbeat music. It takes you to another place. Fun right? WRONG!

This is the story of how my whole life changed.

Prologue

*Grade 6 end of the school year dance.*

"Hey Kiley!" I turn around to see my best friend, Hailey.

"Hey!" I smile.

"Lets dance." Hailey yells over the music as she drags me into the gym.

It was dark and the music was booming. I could feel my heart beating along with the music. All of a sudden dynamite plays and everyone starts screaming. I love this song it's fun to dance to.

Hailey shows off her groovy moves and I follow her lead. It was so much fun. There were groups of girls jumping to the beat of the music, and everyone was enjoying themselves. While the boys just chill on the corners or outside in the school lobby.

I was looking at them, wondering what their doing. Some guys were pointing at girls, laughing and nodding. My friends were jumping up and down when Justin Bieber started playing.

I decided to step out for a bit. I was so tired from all that jumping and screaming. I sat on the floor and Hailey was still inside the gym dancing. I see my 2 friends Evie and Nora.

"Hey guys." I greet and wave.

"Hey Kiley, are you enjoying this dance?" Evie asks.

"Yeah its fun, the DJ is actually playing good songs." I laugh.

"I know right! Hey are you going to ask anybody to dance?" Evie asks.

I look down on the floor.

"Um... why Evie?" I ask.

"Cause you can ask him for you and if he says yes, then its a bonus and you can dance with him. Who is it your trying to ask?" Evie questions. I wasn't sure if I should do this. I do want to dance with him though.

"Umm..." I stutter.

"Oh come on Kiley! I'll ask him for you!" Evie says clapping her hands in excitement.

"Um..Uh.." Gosh why am I stuttering. Come on Kiley it's the only shot you've got just tell him, he might be in the gym with his friends. I know he is here because I saw him.

"Kian..." I finally answer.

"Kian?! Really? Oh my god, you two will look so cute together!!" Evie squeals.

Before I could stop her she races off to find him. My eyes grew wide as he was sitting on the bench right in front of me. I was so scared that I hid in the corner. I could hear Evie talking to him.

"Hey Kian, Kiley wants to dance with you....?" Evie speaks making it seem like a question. What the hell Evie??

"Um.. sure, but only if she asks me herself." Kian responds.

WHAT?! I say in my head?? I don't have guts! I am the most shy person EVER! I CAN'T do it.

"Oh ok.." Evie adds. I peek through the wall as Evie started to come towards me. God damit why did he had to be right there. I saw Kian stand up and follow his friends back into the dance floor.

"So Kiley, Kian said that he would say yes if you ask him." Evie claims.

"Oh ok.." I was looking at the floor and creating circles with my shoes.

"So go ask him." Evie suggests.

"I-I don't know, I can't."

"But you want to dance with him do you?"

"Y-yes." God why the hell am I stuttering?!?!

"Then go," Evie repeats again.

I walk into the gym as a slow song was playing. I guess it was "set fire to the rain" By Adele. I could see Hailey coming towards me.

"Lets look at people dance." She speaks as I could see people dance. I saw Lia and Fred dance together. I turn to my left and these two sixers were dancing.

And then I saw him. Kian. Alone, hands in his pockets. Walking around the gym.

"You're not going to ask are you?" Evie says scaring me.

"Whoa Evie you scared me!!" I yell

"Sorry, I'll ask him again." Evie asserts running to Kian.

I tried to stop her but it was too late. Im doomed. I could see him looking at Evie. He then walks away and Evie comes back.

"He says he doesn't feel like dancing." Evie responds.

"Ok" was the only thing I could say.

The dance was done. My chance was done and now I felt like crap.
