Darkness...Is that what they call it?

I opened my eyes to see the usual thing...My bedroom. Kyle was spooning me from behind which made me feel safe. I climbed out of bed and rubbed my eyes with a tired sigh. "Another happy day in the legion." I had a shower, brushed my teeth,hair and then finally got dressed. No one was up since it was 4 in the morning and I had to get up to go to my part time job in the military. Making Kyle's breakfast in bed, I ran up stairs and gave him a kiss on the forehead before leaving. Today was urgent! Sargent said we were going on the battle field today, like I'd be the one to get hit...I...I didn't tell anyone I was going on the battlefield, I was afraid they'd get worried.

Military Base

"Alright you good for nothin' nose pickers, listen up! Today is another day on the battle field, can you remember what you're fighting for!?"

"OUR COUNTRY!" We all shouted and saluted.

"Good, now if you don't make it on that battlefield today, you will pass with honour." Sargent said and looked at all of us in our long single filed line.

1 Hour Later

We entered the battle field, I was on front line, I was lucky there were even sand bags to hide behind...I hope the others are okay back home. We were all waiting for Sargent's signal. After he shouted the signal we all were left running, mostly everyone's for their self out here but I'm not. As soon as I saw the first enemy I shot them immediately with my heavy AK-47. A few more came and I hid behind the first sand bag I spotted. After killing 98 of them I ran out of bullets. Only one bullet was left but my trigger was jammed, my magi was exhausted, I'd ran out of grenades. The enemy got to me in time and before I knew it, the end of the knifed rifle was in the left part of my stomach. One of my best friends in the military, Flynn, stabbed the enemy with a combat knife and called over the med soldier. "You're gonna be ok..You'll be alright, I promise." Flynn's voice faded and I blacked out. Was this the end already?

I saw my memories flash before my eyes. The first memory from when I was abandoned to when Kyle took me to the light festival...How I miss it...We sang that a song and giggled after.

I woke up in the military base and found a bandage around my stomach, sure it hurt for one thing but I sat up. All those memories gave me faith to get up and go back out there.

"You're not going anywhere rookie." Sargent eyed me and stopped me.

"I need to help Flynn!" I panicked and narrowed my eyes.

"He's fine, the war is over, you were out for a few days."

My eyes widened and I huffed.

"Pack your things, you need to retire until you're healed." Sargent said clearly.

"But I'm fine I can-" Sargent cut me off.

"I SAID...You need to retire."

I groaned and went home, when I got in, the whole legion sat up and looked at me whilst  my nefue, Kaioyd, ran and hugged me.

"BLUE, WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU!!!" My husband shouted furiously and scared.

"What happened?" Arkhalis asked worried.

The legion started questioning me, after I told them.. They all hugged me. This made me happy and was very rare..They love me, and I love them too.
