Lunch time. Rooftop. The usual place for me. And for him too, I guess. It's been weeks since he started hanging out with me. At first I was uncomfortable--who wouldn't be, right? But I just stuck with it. I never tried asking why since he might kill me or something.

"What do you mean you don't laugh?"

Sky was a perfect blue. A few clouds here and there, but other than that, it was a bright, sunny day. My lunch was a simple bento prepared by him. Why he did that, I didn't bother asking. Everybody likes free food.

"I mean I don't laugh," he said with a straight face as he stared at me. Classic Akashi.

Here we are again, having another one of those kinda useless conversations. No meaning, just empty words coming out of empty heads. Well, that's the case for me, at least. This guy...he's something else.

I took a bite before replying to him. "All people laugh."

"Don't talk with your mouth full." He's such a mom. "Again, I don't laugh. I simply don't find things that amusing."

I finished the lunch he made for me and put the container aside. "I'll teach you how to laugh, then."

"Pardon?" He looked at me as if I said something stupid. He's the one acting weird between him and me. I'm really starting to get annoyed at this guy.

"I said I'll teach you how to laugh, idio--" Wait, crap. This is Akashi I'm talking to. "...I'll teach you how to laugh."

He stared at me blankly. Then, he smiled. "I don't think laughing is something that can be taught, Aomine."

"It can be. Just watch." You'll see, Akashi. I'll make you laugh like there's no damn tomorrow. "Here, I'll say a joke. Why did the chicken cross the road?"

"Why?"

"'Cos he wanted to! Bwahahaha!" That joke gets me everytime! I forgot who told it to me, but it's so goddamn hilarious!

He...well...he looked pretty confused. "...I don't really find it that humorous."

Dammit. That was my best weapon. All I could do was scratch the back of my head. Think, idiot, think! "Ah...well..."

I heard him sigh. "It's alright, Aomine. I just really don't...laugh."

Then, I thought of an idea. "This leaves me no choice..."

"Aomine?" Time to release the other secret weapon.

Tickling!

"Let's see you hold your laughter on this one!"

...

Wait, it's not working?

"I'm not ticklish either." This guy...he's smiling, but it's a proud smile. Almost like a smirk, but he looks so innocent! Innocent with some sort of hidden...ack. My head hurts just thinking about it. But he's in no way innocent, that's for sure.

Tsk. I haven't accepted defeat yet. I'll make this bastard laugh. "Just you wait, Akashi. I'm just a little short on ideas now, but I'll make you laugh someday!"

His smile became softer. It was a warmer, more sincere smile. "We'll see." And with that, we both left the rooftop.

I suppose seeing his smile will do for now.
