A smile draws to Luhan's lips as he opened his eyes and saw Sehun facing him. Sehun is still asleep and Luhan runs the slits of his fingers through the other boy's hair. Luhan's phone rang which caused the awakening of the boy beside him.
"Hyung, what's that?" Sehun said with a sleepy tone.
"Nothing. Just a call from the office. By the way, you still need to take your medicine."
Sehun became silent, got up and sat on the bed. He touched his forehead and rested his elbow on his bent knee.
"Sehun," Luhan opened up. "I know you're losing hope. I mean, everyone does. Everyone in a situation like yours does lose hope. But what's different with you is that you have me. You have someone by your side. I will help you Sehun, all I need is you helping your self."
"Shut the fuck up, will you? It's COPD! Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease! My system is destroying itself and it's bringing me. I'm slowly dying too hyung. I'm dying because of this disease that only-god-knows where it came from. I’m dying and no one can help me. Not the doctors, not the medicines and not even you!"
The words Sehun uttered hurt Luhan. He wanted to cry but he didn't let his tears fall to show Sehun that he's strong and that he should be the one to inspire the ill boy. Luhan got up and sat beside Sehun. He wrapped his arms around Sehun's waist and rested his head on the younger boy's shoulder.
"No matter what you say, I won't be leaving you. You're bad with me. How much more if I'm not around? Don't forget this Sehun, I love you. And I always will. I'll never leave you."
After speaking the words, Luhan left Sehun on the bed free from his arms and fled to the kitchen. He grabbed the knob of the hanging cabinet and took out the container of Sehun's medicine. The older boy got a glass and filled it with not-so-hot-not-so-cold water. He walked back to the room where he had left Sehun. Sehun is still sitting on the bed and the expression on his face is an opaque wall to Luhan's sight.
Sehun's facial expression is unreadable. Luhan thinks he'd been thinking about what the doctor have told them a week ago.
"The result of the analysis isn’t that good. I'll tell you both straight. The patient is suffering from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. That's the reason why you, Sehun, find it hard to breath at times. Looking at your personal background, we can say that your illness could be caused by your job since you work in a paint factory. Your respiratory system is gradually dying. We have nothing to do but to prolong your life by taking medications."
Luhan blinked his eyes to shake the memory out and get back to reality. He went to the bed and sat on the chair beside it. He handed the glass of water to Sehun. The other boy received the glass selflessly. Luhan opened the medicine container and the sound of the cap was clear and loud inside the silent room.
Luhan is about to tilt the container with it's opening above the other hand to let the contents fall when Sehun abruptly cut the scene.
"I can do that hyung," Luhan looked up at Sehun. "I'm not physically retarded." Sehun continued.
Sehun grabbed the container from his boyfriend's hands. Luhan didn't notice. Maybe because the action done by Sehun is too subtle or maybe because he was too fascinated with the innocent face the younger one is involuntarily making. Luhan wanted to cry upon seeing Sehun drinking his medicine as if told by his mom. He wanted to cry because he doesn’t know how long will it be till the last time he'd see that face alive. The owner of the angelic face rather.
Tears built up on Luhan's eyes. He does everything he can to prevent the weight on his eyes fall due to gravity's attraction. The way the gravity attracts Luhan's tears is the same how Sehun's innocent face and cold eyes attracts Luhan. He's so beautiful. Luhan thought.
