It's evening. It's very quiet while my mom and I are eating dinner. I can't stop thinking about what the man in the supermarket told me. I'm still too scared to look at my mother's soul. What if it's true? I shake my head. No, I don't think it's true, right? I sigh and try to eat some more. It'll be fine. There's nothing to be worried about. I should trust her. "Hey, are you okay? You seem a bit off," suddenly my mom notices with a worried face. I startle. "Euh, yeah sure. I'm fine. Don't worry," I answer fast with a fake smile. Weird, I've never seen her before like this... She looks really worried. My mother nods and continues eating. I try to focus at her soul to see it, but before I can notice the color, I close my eyes fast because of fear. I can't do that... Should I ask it? But what if... "Elisa!" my mother suddenly shouts mad at me. I startle. Mom... I've never seen her like this before. So mad.. But at the same time, worried?! "You know you can tell me everything, right? I'm your mother. Be honest, what did the man tell you in the supermarket?" My eyes are widening. How.. does she know that? "Well?" She continues asking. I swallow. "I don't know.. what you're talking about, sorry." All of a sudden she slaps the table with her hand. Everything on it vibrates. I startle again. "Elisa! You know that I can see when you're lying. Tell me, what did he tell you?" I swallow again. Oh yeah, that's true. Every wizard or witch has their own magic power. Some of them have more than one power, like my mother... Oh no, what if it's true? What should I do? I'm sure of it that I'm a good witch, but if the man told me the truth... I shake my head fast and sigh. "Okay mom, if I can be honest towards you.. Answer my question first with honesty: Are you really a good witch?" I look into her eyes closely and think about what the man also told me.
"You are also able to see if someone tells the truth or not. It doesn't matter what kind of creature someone is."
I keep looking into her eyes. My mother seems to notice it, because she startles. "Aha, so that's what he told you. Listen Elisa, never believe what people tell you except me. There are a lot of spies around us, who wanna hunt us." She looks seriously at me.
Okay, now I have enough of her and her games of lying. I need to know it, even when it costs me my own life! I look closely at her soul and startle anxious. It is.. true. I clench my hands under the table.
Calm down, Elisa. You also have those magic powers. I sigh. "Why is that... The color of your soul is very dark and black?" My mother's eyes are widening for a bit, but she restores herself fast. "Tell me, what did he exactly tell you?" I bite at my teeth and sigh again. "Just everything, okay." I see some evil madness inside her eyes. Suddenly she pulls out her hands. A dark, black energy ball appears from her hand palms. I swallow. Oh no, now I'm definitely in trouble. "Elisa, you know too much now... I thought I could have you on my side forever and spare your life this way, but I'm sorry. I have to defeat you with this!" She fires the energy ball at me, while I'm leaning scared towards the wall behind me, waiting for my defeat...~
