Sapphire is a half Japanese, half Ukrainian 18 year old girl. When Sapphire was 7 her parents got divorced, and her mother, Audrey Markovic, gained custody over her. Her mother, a rich powerful business woman, taught her about the supernatural world and their family secret. She trained Sapphire to become a warrior using cruel and abusive methods. Before the apocalypse Sapphire was the heiress of her mother's company, Antiope Enterprises.
Sapphire's pragmatic and ambitious and even though she possesses a natural leadership ability like her mother she is reserved. She masks an underlying pain as result of childhood trauma giving her a cold unfeeling demeanor. She is morally ambiguous and willing to bend rules to achieve her goals.
