It's been a year since the incident with Amber's parents occurred. In the past year, Amber went from everyone's life goals to what parents told their children to stay away from.
Amber's wrists were bleeding all of the time, she had a collection of utilities to cut herself with. She wore black croptops, black Cheerleader shorts, black everything. She never brushed her hair, it's like she forgot about all the morals her parents shoved inside her brain.
Everyday when she woke up she had the meds on her nightstand.. that's all she needed, take the right dose and she'd go back to normal.. or, as normal as you can get with both of your parents gone in just 8th grade. She had no one and refused help from anyone. What could you expect from her though? She still went to school at least. She promised herself that she would at least show up to that hell of a place because her parents would've wanted her to. Everyone steered away from her every time she walked the halls. She was shunned and teachers didn't even acknowledge her anymore.. just for attendance.
On her worst day though, someone did acknowledge her. A substitute in her reading class called on her to answer a problem. Amber ignored the teacher who made the mistake of calling on her, but when the lady kept calling on her and the whole class was watching her every move, she lashed out completely.
Amber got up slowly and strolled over to where the substitute's desk was. She stood eye to eye with the lady who now realized what she had done while the whole class sat there in horror unable to move a single muscle. Amber then softly but audible still murmured..
"Leave me alone."
"Um.. Ms. Jackson, I called on you to answer the question, I have authority over you here and if you do not get back in your seat at this time I will have no choice but to call the principal."
"YOU CANT TELL ME WHAT TO DO YOU STUPID IDIOT, NONE OF YOU CAN!"
Amber went crazy and started to attack the poor substitute who mind you should have known better than call on the girl who everyone moved away from when they got to class. The students all ran out to get help and soon enough the guidance counselor, the principal, and security came to remove Amber from the old lady who was pretty much half dead.
The adrenaline was rushing through Amber's veins as she resisted being escorted out which lead to her attacking the guidance counselor who suffered a concussion after being pushed down a flight of stairs. Amber had ripped out the security guard's throat, but luckily the principal got away unharmed and called the police who came and put Amber in a straight jacket.
She was admitted to a mental institution, but insisted that she was fine. For theee days straight she yelled at anyone who walked past that she was fine.
"IM FINE, IM FINE, IM FINE, IM FINE!"
Eventually her voice gave out and when she tried to yell all that came out was a wheeze.
Was this the life she was going to live forever?
