Rain

The day went by in a haze. When I got out of the school building, rain was pouring down from the dark grey clouds that have formed high above in the sky. And of course, I didn't bother to bring an umbrella with me this morning. So, I guess I just have to walk trough the rain. I hated getting wet… I looked around if I could see Ivory somewhere. But I couldn't find her.

I took a deep breath and closed my eyes to prepare myself for the cold rain that soon will fall down on my face. I took a deep breath, but before I could take a step someone tapped on my shoulder. I turned around to meet with Cam's green eyes. I was a bit confused. What was he doing here? I thought he didn't want me around…

"Hi…" Cam said.

"Uhm, hi."

He just gazed down at me.

"Uhm, what are you doing?" I asked him feeling a bit uncomfortable.

"Do you want a ride home?"

"What?" I was really confused now. First he didn't want me near him, and now he wants to give me a ride home.

"I asked if you wanted-" I cut him off.

"I heard you. But why? You're the one that said you didn't need me around."

"I didn't say that. I said that I could find my own way around. I…," he took a deep breath," just see it as an apology for what happened earlier. I know what I said came out a bit more rude than I intended."

He opened an umbrella and dragged me across the parking lot by my arm.

"What are you doing?" I asked shim while I yanked my arm out of his grip.

"Taking you to my car ,silly."

"What if I didn't want you to take me home?" I asked him.

"It's your choice. You can walk home in the rain and get completely soaked before you even get home to or you can come with me."

He was right. I was better off if I just came with him.

"Ok, fine." I said.

Any other girl would just have gotten in his car, because you know, he was cute. But there was something about him that I didn’t trust. Well, I wouldn’t say I didn’t trust him, it was just that I couldn’t figure him out. He was a big question mark for me.

„So, where do you live?” He asked me. I gave him my address when I buckled up.

He started his car and we drove off.

A few minutes later we arrived at my house. Cam turned off the engine of his car.

„Uhm, well, thank you for the ride.”I said to him.

„You’re welcome.” He said with a faint smile playing around his lips.

Oh god, his lips. They were so beautiful. They were this really pretty colour of pink and I would love to-

„Not to be rude or anything, but are you going to get out of my car or…” He said quite amused. Shit, he must’ve seen I was staring at him and all. My cheeks turned a bright red at the thought of that.

„Uhm yeah, I’m sorry…”

„It’s alright.”

I looked outside and saw it was still raining. If I would run from Cam’s car to the front door I would still be soaking wet. I sighed at the thought of that.

„Wait, here.” He said while he handed me his umbrella.

„Oh, no. It’s alright, I’ll be fine.”

„Yes, you will be fine. And soaking wet. I don’t want you to get a cold or anything. Take it and give it back to me tomorrow when you see me.” He said to me.

„Oh, ok. See you tomorrow then?”

„Yeah, see you tomorrow.” He said with a breathtaking smile.

I got out of his car and opened his umbrella. I walked to my front door and turned around, but Cam was already gone.
