I sat in the corner of the loveseat that was pushed up against the wall of the compact apartment. My overheated laptop was in my hands and illuminated on the screen was my middle-aged chemistry professor, Dr. O'Donnell.

Most of the past month was spent like this because I had nonstop work. I would lounge in the same spot all day and do nothing else. The classes were always the same, insanely slow, I wished they would go as fast as my professor's receding hairline.

A sound of a doorknob twisting was brought to my attention and I decided to close down my laptop. The class was short anyways Alice, I convinced myself to put away the laptop.

My sister, Miranda, followed in with three tall figures behind her.

"That gig was wicked! Too bad they had to shut us down since the bar was overcapacity," chirped Louis, one third of Fifty Church. The band consisted of Louis on the keyboard, Harry as the main vocals, and Niall playing the guitar. They weren't too bad but I rarely got to seem them play. They had an indie sound to them and were quite popular around town.

"It was was crazy. There was 'bout a hundred people there. Alice, ya should've been there," Niall spoke up from behind my sister with his arms wrapped around her waist. He practically lived here, having his clothes in my sister's closet and sleeping the room most of the time. Not to mention consuming most of our food supply.

"Don't mind if I do." Harry's lanky body was sticking out of the refrigerator and he was holding the leftover Halloween candy. I uncrossed my legs and stomped over to the irritating boy.

"Now is that my bag?" I snatched the bag away from him and pointed to the big words with my chipped nails:

THIS BELONGS TO A L I C E AND
ONLY ALICE IF YOU DARE TO
TOUCH IT YOU WELL ROT IN
HELL MARK MY WORDS

"You're so harsh but so cute." I quirked an eyebrow at him and swung the fridge door in his face while I searched for a new hiding place my sweets. "Why not let me eat the chocolate if you're not even going to?"

"There's something called a 'midnight snack' for a reason buddy." He shrugged his shoulders at me and I shoved him away.

"Don't worry Harry, at least I know you would've cleaned up after yourself. Complete opposite of this one." I scoffed at 'this one' and the boys stifled a laugh.

"Neat freak," I spat.

"Couch potato," She shot back.

"The fact that you actually called me a 'couch potato' proves that I clearly won this." She layed down on the recliner.

"Niall rub my feeeet," she dragged on. Niall ignored her request and she huffed at him.

"Alice has a point, you really don't know how to properly insult someone," Louis said and I shot him a thumbs up.

"I didn't get the comical genes but hey I got the boobs." I coughed up the water I was sipping from my large mug and all Niall couldn't stop laughing.

"You didn't." Niall said and stopped laughing but there was still a pink tint to his cheeks. I kept on sipping my water and shook my head profusely.
