Y/n l/n mostly when that name came to mind most thought of a happy go lucky young girl, her parents both worked at a nearby office well known to the the citizens of New York.

If you asked her, she would say her life was everything but perfect but manageable but it all changed one day. Dark clouds flooded the sky almost as if it was going to rain, your patents were still not home from work but you never worried. The knock on the door perked up your mood thinking it was your parents only to meet face to face with the NYPD.

"Ms. L/n, I regret to inform you but your parents were involved in a hit and run. They were transported to the hospital but however didn't make, my condolences to you." He spoke slowly yet it felt so fast like a memory flashed before your eyes, they couldn't be gone, they're coming home, right?

You thanked the officer embarrassed over the crack in your voice, of course you were going to cry but letting it be known was unnecessary, the door shut behind you slumping your tired body frame against the door, hugging your knees close to your chest allowing yourself to cry

After an hour of tears falling from your cheeks and endless memories of your parents replaying in your mind you sat up, meeting eyes with a unfamiliar individual, your reflection. She was you just opposite of how people saw you, your e/c dulled dried tears sitting on your cheeks, strands of your hair matted from pulling at it in agony.

They were gone, no more memories to make just you and an empty home, home? Even the word sounded unfamiliar, it wasn't a very lovely place without your family it was rather dull, quiet even enough to hear the floor creak with the sound of the wind. It was just a house with no liveliness inside

The girl in the mirror suddenly didn't feel so unfamiliar, a brush ran through the locks of your h/c hair, rubbing your tired eyes. If they were to look at you now their whole opinion on you wouldn't add up, an unrecognizable figure portraying you from the outside.

You weren't prepared to face the world alone, the thought of it just as scary as getting on a roller coaster for the first time being pulled up and up and at the peak gravity pulls you down without warning, exactly how life felt right now. The peak had just dropped and as much as you didn't want to accept it...this is your life now, not much can happen in a 16 year old life on their own.
