~Rune's POV~
I'm flying from the building. No, I'm falling from the building. Wait. Why am I falling!? I twisted my body around and looked up. A girl with red curls in a black dress snickered as she watched me fall. I know her, but I don't.
As I fell to my death, my head ached and felt as if it was about to burst. I closed my eyes. It was surely the last minute before my life ends. I don't like this ending, but oh well. It's not like I can do anything about it. Right?
~°~
In the distance, I heard voices. I couldn't register their words clearly. It was like all my senses had gone numb. Wait...I'm still alive? Not dead?
I tried to open my eyes, but it felt as if they weighed a ton. It took me few seconds to pry my eyes open and fifteen more seconds for them to adjust.
Two handsome guys stood in front of my bed, discussing about something. What about? I don't have a clue. Like I said, my senses felt numb.
I managed to tilt my head to my right. Holding my right hand was an older woman, with dried tear stains that ran down her cheeks.
Behind her were small twin faced angels that slept quietly side-by-side on the couch, holding hands.
Like the woman, dried tear stains were left on their adorable faces. I tilted my head to the left and saw an older man holding on to my left hand, trembling a bit.
A smile crept upon my face. I know these people. I know them. I love every single one of them from the bottom of my heart. The only problem was...who are they?
"Who..." I managed to croak. That got their attention, somehow. The two guys noticed me and gasped, causing a ruckus. "She's awake!" the blonde one shouted. "She's awake!"
The moment he said that. Everyone shot up and ran to my bed. The older couple shot up and clenched to my hand, hard.
"Rune," the woman started, "Are you really awake?"
I looked at them with confusion, but that didn't stop them from getting excited. The woman snapped her head towards that guy with blonde hair.
"What are you still doing here? Get the doctor!" she screamed.
"ON IT!" he screamed back, dashing out the door within few seconds screaming, "DOCTOR!, MY SISTER'S FINALLY AWAKE!"
That got me to laugh, but I couldn't. I groaned instead. My sides ached. Seconds later, he literally dragged a doctor in and pulled him up, throwing questions like a bullet.
"How's my sister? Is she okay? She doesn't look like she's okay. How's her heart rate? Is she breathing correctly? Breathing?" he gasped. "Is she even breathing?" He pushed everyone aside and grabbed me, shaking me deliberately. "RUNE! SPEAK TO ME!" He dropped me and looked around frantically. "Someone give her a CPR! No wait, I will!"
He jumped to me. Before he could even lay a finger on me, the older man pulled him back and slapped him hard, three times. "Get. A. HOLD OF YOURSELF!" he barked.
It took the blonde guy about another minute or two before slumping to the ground. "I'm sorry. I just couldn't..."
I didn't say anything. My throat hurted and I don't think I'll be able to use it without straining it. The silence broke when the two-faced angels looked at me with tearful eyes. "Rune!" they said in unison. "We missed you so much!"
Now that I took a good look of them, I realized one had a blue eye on the right and green on the left and the other had green on the right and blue on the left.
Unlike the blonde guy, they ran up to me for a long, gentle hug. I felt warm on both of my hands. I looked up and saw the older couple smiling at me. "How do you feel?" the woman asked.
"What your mother said." the man chuckled.
"Mother?" I questioned. I couldn't help but stare. The two-faced angels moved aside for the raven-haired guy to come closer. "Rune. I missed you." he whispered. I sat up and removed their hands away from me. The older woman gasped and tried to push me back down. "Honey, you need to rest."
I pushed her hand away with an annoyed expression. "Why do you people keep touching me?"
She looked shocked at first but a smile eventually crept on her face. "Rune, you don't have to be shy. It's just us. Your friends aren't here yet, though."
She reached out to me, but I instantly slapped it away. I realized what I did was rude. I moved away from them so they'll get the message that I don't want to be touched. But...they didn't. "Rune?" the older man asked. "Is there something wrong?"
I nodded. I looked at each and every one of them with confusion. "Do I know you?"
They all froze. The blonde one was the first to laugh, but somewhere in his voice was an uneasy feeling. "Rune. You know, we know it's been a long time since you've played a prank on us, but this is a terrible time to prank us."
"So you think I'm lying?" I questioned. He rubbed the back of his neck. "Well yeah, I won't believe it."
I sighed. I looked down at my hands and saw that the woman was still holding on to my hand.
I pulled away. "Stop touching strangers. Who knows what I'm capable of doing once you get close to me. I might break off that finger of yours if you touch me again." I snapped. The woman's eyes widened. "Rune..."
"Don't talk like you know me. I'm sorry if what I'm saying sounds rude, but I'm telling you the truth. I don't know you people." I said as sincere as I could.
The two-faced angels rushed to my side. "Rune! You still remember us...right?" the right blue eyed one asked with such hope in her voice. I nearly died. The right green eyed one clenched onto my hands. "Please tell us you do."
My heart throbbed in pain. I don't want to see them like this. I wanted to see them smile like the sun. I slowly shook my head. "I'm sorry...I don't think...I do." I mumbled.
Almost instantly, they broke into sobs. They cried on to my waist as they did. "NO!" the blue one shouted.
"THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING!" the green one shouted.
I wanted to cry too, but I couldn't. I didn't feel what they're feeling right now. Thus, leaving me sitting there as they cried. I had on a pained face, but it wasn't enough. I know that very well. I wanted to hold them whispering something like 'Every thing's okay' or laugh 'I was just joking'.
Unfortunately, that'll only cause them even more pain, I suppose. I couldn't do anything, but sit there as they cried. The woman sobbed in her husband's arms while the other two guy looked down, holding back tears.
I watched as all this joy and excitement turned it's direction into disappointment and despair. The raven-haired guy walked up to me and placed his hand on my cheek. "You don't remember anything?"
Before I could say a word, my head throbbed. I scream and shrieked. The pain was unbearable. I couldn't hold it in. It felt as if someone or something was clawing it's way out of my brain.
I grabbed onto my head, trying to crease the pain, but it only grew more and more. Everyone rushed to my aid, asking what was wrong. I couldn't answer them. I couldn't think straight.
More doctors and nurses ran in and tried to hold me down because I was sinking my nails deeper and deeper into my scalp. Tears gushed out of my eyes. I screamed and screamed. There was approximately 4 doctors and 5 nurses holding my down.
The strangers were trying to come to me, but they were ushered out of the room at once. More doctors came in and began strapping me down on the bed.
Sadly for them, the strap was no match for me. I couldn't handle myself. They were becoming more and more scared of me. Then, lighting struck within me.
My heart throbbed slowly, but hard. I was soon at my limit. I released my muscles and creased my scream immediately. I was sure they didn't stuck their needle in my arm yet. If they did, I would've felt it. I was sure it someone else who did it. Someone who's not in this room, but somewhere near me. My eyes went shut and I lost conscious...completely.
