just a collection of thoughts

voices are meant to be heard

just sit down
shut your mouth
bite your lip
don't make a sound

it's not your place
to speak your mind
not today
not this time

you must stay still
and stay in place
just sit there
as a pretty face

it's not your decision
it's not your choice
they say don't make
a single noise

but I won't sit down
and I won't stop
I deserve to be heard
for my opinion or thought

I'm tired of waiting
listening to what you have to say
I'm tired of people
that are stuck in their way

I'm ready to speak
to clear my mind
it's okay to be heard
in fact, it's just fine.

so always speak up
and make the choice
