Kai walked out his parents house his face red his mind jumbled he couldn't stand it he hated his parents
Hated
It was such a strong word but it was true they have hurt him for the last time
He was done
Kai is 23 years old his life in shambles he barely had anyone to turn to except his best friend and secretly the love of his life
Sage
Sage has always been there for Kai always she was his safe haven
When Marquis and Sage got married it hit him hard he could've made his moves years before but he didn't
For that he will forever regret because he lost out on someone as amazing as Sage
He didn't like Marquis and it wasn't because of the fact he and Sage were married he just felt like there was something off about him and his best friend did not deserve to be with a person like that
He rung the doorbell of Sages house and waited for the door to open when it did it revealed Sage in a long button down shirt the was most likely Marquis
That could be his shirt on her
Sighing inwardly he waited for Sage to grabbed him, which she did as she always does and holds him tight rubbing his back
"My poor baby" Sage mumbled in his ear leading him to the couch
"I just can't do it no more man" Kai said biting his lip to keep from breaking down but Sage knew better and grabbed his face making him look into her eyes
"Don't say that baby boy, you are a fighter and you are strong if you don't want to see them for a while that's okay but don't ever say you can't do this because baby I know you can" she said kissing his cheek she hugged him again
Kai felt content when her arms were around him he felt like nothing could hurt him here
"Sexy where are you baby?" Marquis yelled from the top of the stairs
Kai's jaw clenched as Marquis came down
"Babe not right now" Sage said
Before Kai came they were having sex but Sage stopped when she felt something wrong and that's when the doorbell rang and Kai stood there hurt as ever
"Kai" Marquis said as a greeting
"Marquis" Kai mumbled before stuffing his face in the crook of Sages neck
Marquis knew better than to say anything while Sage was there
Marquis and Kai definitely didn't see eye to eye and really hated each other and Sage didn't like that they did
"Marquis, Kai is staying here for a few days maybe 2 weeks however long he needs until he gets himself on his feet. I do not want any problems between you two if there is I will ignore you both. Kai is my best friend Marquis is my husband you both are very important to me so please respect each other accordingly" Sage said firmly leaving no room for argument as she stood and had Kai follow her to the guest room
When Kai was settled Sage kissed his cheek once more before walking out closing the door leaving Kai to his thoughts
