The scene was chaotic. The procession was halted as drivers and Royal Security officials scrambled to learn what happened. Bystanders pointed and stared; attempting to ascertain the reason why a royal motorcade was suddenly stopped in the center of New London's shopping district. There was no screaming, no smoke, no reason for the sudden flurry of activity that suddenly surrounded the procession which consisted on one of the palace hover-limousines and two palace security gliders. The distant sound of sirens announced the arrival of the New London Royal Police, which set up an immediate perimeter to block the view of the general public. Photo-drones were illegal to operate within 100 feet of royalty, but amateur photographers and paparazzi still took their chances as the citizens of Planet Britain loved to see videos of the royal family; both glamorous or scandalous. By the time the NLRP was able to erect the 3 meter high anti-visual screens; there were at least a half-dozen photo-drones buzzing over the royal limo.
Police outside of the screens kept hover-craft and foot traffic moving, while the ones within established a perimeter and prepared for the arrival of an inspector; a proper inspector. The ranking official on scene, a major with the Royal Police, looked at the evidence and the crime before him. He took photos, spoke with (and detained) the few pedestrians that were in the vicinity when the procession halted, and questioned the Royal Security. There was a crime committed, and because it happened outside of the palace, it was his jurisdiction; temporarily. The crime; the atrocity that had just been perpetrated went so far over his head that he may as well have been a bobby walking a beat. Each officer and security official was immediately hit with a gag-order; standard practice for a crime of this magnitude; not that a crime of this sort had ever been committed on Planet Britain, much less in New London. The major looked into the open area of the royal Limo, and stared blankly at the Queen's oldest son and heir, Prince Frederick, who lay dead before him.
