Crazy Love

*STEVE POV*

"Steve!" Someone yelled. I looked over to see Clint running towards me. "Is everything alright?" I asked standing up from the chair I was sitting on. "There was a break in, two people,  a girl and a boy. We caught the girl but the boy got away." Clint explained. I raised an eyebrow. "Are they from Hydra?" I asked. Clint shook his head. "I don't think so, but the girl we caught does have a temper, and an attitude." Clint replied. I noted that and asked Clint to take me to her.

When we got to the room, I saw a girl with dark red hair. Her hands were tied behind her back and she was sitting on a chair with a straight face. "Hello miss." I say, but the girl didn't answer. I sat down in front of her.  "I'm Steve Rogers, you are?" I asked. She still didn't answer, instead she glared at me. "Miss, I need you to cooperate, it will make this much easier." I state. "Untie me." The girl's low, angry voice made me jump a bit. "You will cooperate if we do?" I asked. The girl stayed silent for a second before nodding. Two people untied her hands and she set them out on the table in front of her. "Kylee." She said. I smiled. "Kylee, Why were you breaking in? What were you trying to steal?" I asked. Kylee cracked her neck. "I wasn't trying to steal anything I just wanted something back." Kylee said in a bored voice. "And what was that." I asked. Kylee smiled. "Information." She said. I nodded. "Your information?" I asked. Kylee shook her head. "My best friend's information." She said. "Is that the guy that broke in with you? The guy that got away?" I asked. Kylee didn't answer. I took that as a yes. I opened my mouth to speak but was cut off by a large boom. Kylee looked around. "What was that? The building isn't going to explode, is it?' She asked. I shook my head. Suddenly, the door to the room opened and a boy with longer brown hair and a metal arm barged in. "Bucky! What's going on." I asked. Bucky shook his head.  "I don't know but some girl just came up to the tower, she looked lost and alone so we let her in. She's downstairs drinking some tea. I think you should go talk to her.  Tony is going to check into the book and see what it was all about." Bucky explained. I nodded. "Can you watch her." I asked pointing towards Kylee. Bucky looked over my shoulder at Kylee to see her roll her eyes. " I don't need a babysitter." She stated angrily. Bucky looked back over to me and nodded.

I left the room to find the girl Bucky had told me about. The girl before me was sitting cross legged on the floor. Her clothes were dirty and she sat on the floor in the lobby drinking a cup of tea. The girl's pale, freckled face looked up at me as I entered the room, and then she tilts her head to the side. "Miss, why are you sitting on the floor?" I ask her curiously. She bites her lip and doesn't reply, but she look scared. "I'm not here to hurt you." I say softly. I don't want to scare her more. Suddenly, the girl disappears. Poof. She's gone. I saw the teacup she had been holding floating in the air though, so she must still be present. A smile forms on my face. "Miss I know you're still here. Why won't you answer my questions?" Then the girl turns visible again, and I get a good look at her again. She was thin, too thin to be healthy. Considering the state of her hair, forest deadlocks with dirt, leaves and grass in it, her dirty clothes, her milky white skin and the fact she had no shoes, I'd say she's homeless. She also probably lives in the woods. The girl just stared at me. I can't tell how old she is but she looked rather young. It's odd she can turn invisible though. How could that happen? Hydra? Was it Hydra? This girl couldn't work for Hydra but they probably took her in. The girl sneezes quietly, almost like a kitten. I smile again. "Now miss, if you won't give me your name, I might have to give you a nickname." I say. The girl softly whispers one word after looking at her left hand, "Jessa." "Is that your name?" I ask, "Jessa?" She nods as a reply. I smile slightly. "It's nice to meet you Jessa, I'm Steve, Steve Rogers." I say. Jessa nods. "Do you mind following me?" I ask. Jessa slowly stood up and started to walk towards me. I beckon for her to follow me.

I lead Jessa up to the room where I had left Kylee and Bucky. She kept looking around, her eyes were wide. How long has it been since she's seen the inside of a building? Of course, I can't ask her that and I doubt she'd tell me anyways, so I just keep walking. Soon we reach the door to the room. I opened the door to see Bucky covering his face with his hands and Kylee smiling. Bucky looked up at me when I opened the door. He quickly stood up and ran over to me.  "Thank god you are here! She is a psychopath!" Buck said quietly. I raised an eyebrow. Kylee rolled her eyes.Bucky caught the eye of Jessa standing behind me. "Oh, hello, it's nice to see you again miss." Bucky said with a small smile. Jessa gave him a small smile but stayed behind me. "Alright come on in Jessa." I said. Jessa sat beside Kylee and Bucky sat beside me as I continued  to question the girls. It took some time but Jessa started to answer some of our questions but she was still very quiet and every so often she would disappear.  We learned almost nothing about her though, how she got her powers is a mystery and what we got from her is that yes, she lived in the woods and she was running from something when she came here. Oddly enough, she kept looking at her hands or her wrists before she answered a question.  We learned of Kylee's powers, She shot fireballs out of her hands and had very sharp blades that worked just like boomerangs. Kylee gave no information about the boy who had been with her when he and she were robbing us, but I could tell by the smart comments and the expressions on Kylee's face that we were gong to be seeing this guy again and let me tell you, we will be ready when he does come back.
