*This imagine is for Haley*
It was Father's Day and Kris' parents were in town. The guys had a game at Wrigley, so I decided to sit with his parents since they were in town. Kris wanted to go out to a nice dinner for his dad after the game.
Kris was up to bat and the Cubs were already beating the Pirates. He had been having good at bats so I was hoping he has another one. The next pitch was thrown and Kris swung. And I knew right away that it was gone. Long gone. Kris did I quick home run trot and right after he touched home plate, he high fived Rizzo then turned around and pointed at his dad and did I fist punch.
After the game I left with Kris' parents to go change and get ready for dinner. Kris said he would meet us back at our apartment. This was a really important Father's Day because I had something really important to tell Kris.
We were all gathered around the kitchen island talking about how the game went when Kris came in the front door.
"Thank the lord! I'm starving!" I said giving Kris a kiss on the cheek. And I really was hungry. Very hungry.
We went to Mike's (Kris' dad) favorite restaurant in Chicago. It was very expensive restaurant, but Kris wanted to do it for his dad on his special day.
We all ordered and started a conversation that carried throughout the whole night. Once our food came, I was so thrilled, so I started to stuff my face, but politely.
I wanted to tell Kris the news there with his parents, but I wasn't sure how he would take it. I really wanted to, but I decided against it. I wasn't sure whether or not Kris would be happy or mad, and I didn't want him to get mad in front of his parents.
After our dinner, Kris' parents went back to the hotel that they were staying at and Kris and I went back to our apartment.
Kris walked in and immediately into the kitchen to grab a water bottle from the fridge.
"Hey, can we talk about something?" I asked softly following him into the kitchen.
"What about?" He asked confused while opening the water and hopping up on the counter to sit.
"Well, there was something I wanted to say..." I said nervously. I was now standing across from looking up at him.
"Well what is it!?" Kris asked excitedly yet confused at the same time.
"Happy Father's Day." I said finally after a long period of waiting.
"That's sweet! You should have told my dad that though! Not me silly!" Kris said hopping down off the counter and running my head like I was 5 years old. Then he started to walk away.
"Kris." I said softly, but just loud enough for him to hear me.
"What?" He asked with a little laugh while turning around to look at me.
He was smiling. I loved his bright big smile. I didn't say anything else. I just had a look on my face with a little frown. I finally let out a little sigh, and that's when Kris' smile fell of his face.
Kris stared at me for a little while until finally saying, "Are you...? You're...?" Kris said. The only thing I did was nod.
It was only a moment after I nodded Kris' smile came back to his face, but this time it was bigger than ever.
"Wait, you're not mad?" I asked a little confused by his actions.
"Mad? Why would I be mad? This is amazing! You're going to be a mother! And me! I'm.... IM GOING TO BE A FATHER!" He yelled while running over to me and picking me up and spinning me around while pecking my lips.
"This is amazing. I love you Haley."
