I sat in the car, looking ahead at the seeing people and other cars everywhere. Listening to the emergency broadcast.

"Every civilian is to report to the military protections camps, please act in a good manner. Stay calm and st-STATIC-STATIC-STATIC-." The radio cut out and that's when I actually took notice of anything, everyone seemed to have.

"Hey, what happened to the radio?"

"Why'd the radio stop?"

I got out the passenger seat, going to my friends car right behind us. I walked and waded my way through people, I tapped the window when I got to the car. He jumped at the sudden tapping and turned around, rolling down the window.

"Hey, did your radio stop as well?' I nodded to answer his question.

"That's weird, just how it suddenly stopped, what do you think is happening." I thought about it, came up with three suggestions.

"They stopped accepting people into the camps?" He stared at me for a second, then shook his head quickly.

"No, no way." I moved onto my other suggestion.

"The radio towers went out of order." He shrugged at that. I tried to find a good way to explain the last one, and settled with a different idea.

"The camps got overrun?" He didn't like that becasue he went straight into explaining and freaking out, I just shrugged and continued to lean on the car door. We sat there in silence for a little bit, then when he couldn't take the silence he spoke.

"How'd the infection start?" I shrugged there was no way of knowing, no one knew. I looked around people were pointing upwards and I heard helicopters, looking up quickly I saw many of them, racing towards the city. I watched them, trying to make sure they were still in sight. I ended up standing on the top of my own car, they were circling the city.

Boom

Boom

Boom

Followed with seeable flames and explosions clouds, oh fuck. I watched as they bombed the city, it crumbled. After the bomb attack on the city, the circled back around and started dropping bombs on the road. Everything went haywire.

Next think I knew, people were having eachother racing towards their cars, I did the same. Pushing past people and being pushed myself, I grabbed onto the car handle and tried to open it. The people running by slammed into me and made it harder to open and kept slamming it back shut! Come on!

Eventually I forced it open and jumped in before it got slammed shut by the stampede.

"Mom go! Go. go. go
go!" She started driving but stopped immediately. To many people.

"Mom!"

"I can't drive through them!" I growled as the last stampede past and the cars ahead started driving off to the sides into the grass and fields. I looked forward and I could see the cars exploding now, still far but not far enough. I saw a gap we could go through.

"Mom there! Go." She sped forward and we made our way as quickly as possible into the fields. Convenient timing as the first copter got to where the car was 30 seconds later. The car bumped and rocked on the uneven ground, and the slipping the tires made on the dirt. We kept driving, the cars around didn't seem to stop either.

2 weeks later.

We had went back to our house, boarded it up and sat there waiting for everything to stop working. We had food and the water still worked, as for entertainment....We still had books. Our house had an attic, one of those attics with the roof hatches. I sat with it open, I sat on a chair looking out into the streets. The goddanm zombies outside, their skin full of holes and other things.

Ugly ass things. I thought looking at it, the skin peeled off and their teeth and flesh all ripped out.

"Danny! I need you to go to the garage." I huffed and got up shutting the hatch. I made my way down the ladder putting that up and started down the stairs.

What does she need now?

Hey look the dead is walking, by that I mean me.
