Our little conversation reminded me of this pic hahaha

(For some reason, I feel like this picture is very important)

What's crazy, is that this is actually what I had planned for this book.

So I hope this chapter qualifies for a Treaty of Peace XD 😊 <3

"Geoff Castellucci," said the bass's manger as he showed him to a dark-haired man, "meet your new partner, Adam Chance."

Geoff half-smiled as he extended a hand out to the other officer, "Nice to meet you, Adam."

"Welcome to the force, Geoff." the other bass greeted with his own smile that had 'hope you survive the experience' written all over it. "By the way, you can call me Chance. Everyone does."

"Will do." Geoff nodded as the manager left the two.

"I guess I'm gonna have to show you around then." Chance mentioned, implying if Geoff had been shown around at all.

"Sure." Geoff agreed, beginning to follow Chance down a hallway. "How long've you been on the force?"

"About a year." Chance replied, and Geoff could sense the slight hesitation before he added in, "Not sure if being an ex-military agent counts, though."

"You were on the military?" Geoff asked as he caught up to walk beside his partner.

"Yep. I was eighteen. Fresh outta school." he chuckled at the thought of it.

"Why'd you leave?" Geoff asked with fascination, "That is, if you don't mind me asking."

"Well," Chance pondered, trying to decide how to put it into word form, "Let's just say that some experiences are a bit too much to handle."

"Oh." Geoff answered understandingly. Chance opened a door and revealed an artificially-lit, kinda stuffy room with a fridge, a table, chairs, and a counter with kitchen appliances lined up on it.

"This is the break room." he said, stepping into the room. "If you bring anything or put anything in the fridge, you'd better put your name on it or everyone will think it's a free-for-all." he warned.

Geoff shrugged, "Sure," he then chuckled, "doesn't sound much different than my house."

"Kids?" Chance assumed, turning to continue the tour.

"Nah," Geoff answered, "I live with four other guys."

Chance raised his eyebrows, "Huh." he commented, "Never woulda guessed."

"It's not half bad actually, but then again, it hasn't been that long." Geoff said with a sure time. "How 'bout you? Married?"

"Didn't see a point in gettin' married when I'd be going off to war anyway. Kinda hard to do that sorta thing when you wouldn't be home at all." he shrugged, then approached a door with a silver label on the front saying 'Office'.
