Your blood turns cold as Flowey mouths 'RUN!'. However, you're too paralyzed to move an inch. Flowey trembles at whatever is behind you. "Hello, my child. I'm Toriel, caretaker of the ruins. What would your name be?" The woman croaks, and you tense your shoulders. You slowly turn around. A tall goat woman stands at the doorway, head tilted. An evil-looking cloak is draped over her, shredded at the ends and worn from age. Your breath hitches as her red eyes scan your body. "My name i-is (Y/N)." you whisper, and her already-creepy gaze narrows. "Speak up!" she barks and you flinch. "(Y/n)!" you call out, and her angry gaze turns into a satisfied one. "What a lovely name!" she compliments, her voice a pitch higher.
"(Y/n)! Get over here!" Flowey whisper-shouts nervously. She was staring you down, and you gulped. You take a comfortable pace back, safely behind the anxious flower. Toriel glares at the flower, and he shivers. She clears her throat. "My child, I have some... "errands" to attend to. Stay here and be a good child, will you not?" She grins, her smile unnaturally wide. You frantically nod, eager for her to leave. You wonder why she suddenly wanted to leave. She slowly trails out of the room, leaving the two of you in a shocked silence.
After what seemed like an hour, Flowey turned to you, terrified. "Oh no, we're done for!" he wails, and you smile at him. "We'll be fine, Flowey. Come on, we should go explore a bit." You say confidently, and turn around to continue on. This room has the same eerie feeling as all the others, and you lift your chin to hide that you're nervous. The next room has a pile of leaves, and you head over to that. As you exit the room, you're interrupted by a small flower popping up in your pathway. "(Y/n), this really isn't a good idea! She's insane; who knows what she could do to us if we run into her!" Flowey warns in panic. You continue on without hesitation. "It'll be fine! Come on, Flowey!" You chirp, brushing off his warnings. You hear a frustrated groan, and the soil crumbling behind you. You smile in satisfaction, weaving on through the ruins.

"Beautiful, isn't it?" Flowey murmurs. You gently mumble in agreement, looking over the vast purple city from above. You observe the crumbled buildings in fascination, leaning over them. Flowey sighs, and you notice that he probably can't see the worn-down city from below the ledge. You frown, looking back up at the breath-taking view. You get a sudden idea. "Hey, Flowey. Why not wrap yourself around my shoulder so you can see? That way, you can also travel with me!" You suggest, turning to him. A look of consideration passes his face, and he shrugs freely. "Sure, why not?" He says, sounding a bit impressed. You kneel down to his level, and he uses his vines to wrap himself around your shoulder securely. You crouch patiently as he fastens himself in. He grunts dismissively, and you stand up slowly. Flowey doesn't shift a bit, so you assume that he's good. Happily, the two of you leave the abandoned site, and continue into the ruins together.

After some small chat with Froggits, and a few "fights", you entered a room will an oak in the middle. It was surrounded by shredded leaves, and the non-existent wind tugged at them. You also notices little specks of gray in the air. A figure appeared from around the oak, and appeared as if it were holding an object in its hand. As it neared, you realized that it was Toriel, and she was holding a bag. She stopped once she saw you. "My child! Have I not told you to stay put?" She rushes towards you, and Flowey tenses around your shoulder. "Are you hurt, my child? That would be terrible!" She exaggerates. She glances at your shoulder, and glares at Flowey knowingly. He flinches back. Toriel seems satisfied, and she smiles as she looks back at you. "How about you come inside, my child? After all, I have a special surprise for you!" She winks. You smile, a bit relieved. "What would that be?" You ask quietly. She smiles wider. "I'm making you one of my favorite pies; Dust pie!" She chirps, and then turns to walk inside of the disturbingly happy house.
A sense of dread falls over you, and you get an uneasy feeling. "Flowey, what's... dust?" You ask, assuming it was dirt (which would be nasty and odd). Flowey begins shivering on your shoulder, and he stutters, "When a monster dies, they turn into dust. It's... a monster's corpse." A cold sense of terror settles on your chest, and your eyes widen. Toriel must not be sane; and that honestly scared you.
You step inside with Flowey, who's still quivering. The house looks surprisingly cozy, but it looks odd next to the eerie environment outside. Toriel calls you from the right side of the house, where there's a hallway. You glance at Flowey for reassurance, but he just shrugs. Huffing, you step towards her voice, and she's standing in the hall. "My child, your room is right here. Please, stay in here and occupy yourself until your pie is ready." She smiles, and motions towards a door to the left of her. You smile politely, and go into the room, closing the door behind you.
It's a cozy little room, fitting with the rest of the household. A small bed was pushed up against the wall with a small closet right next to it. Stuffed animals were assorted neatly across the wall. There was also a small dresser with a few decorations placed on it, such as a dusty picture frame. It had neatly-sorted toys and books, but what caught your eye was the shoe bin. A small collection of shoes that were sprinkled with the same gray stuff as outside. "Monster dust." Flowey grimaced, and you winced in disgust.
"So, Toriel is making pie out of monster's... dead bodies?" You question in quiet horror. Flowey sighs, and nods. "Yeah. Ever since her two children died, and she's left her husband, she's completely unhinged. It's been years, if not decades, since she's had anyone to talk to besides quiet little Froggits and Whimsuns. " He pauses, glancing towards the floor wearily. "She's nice; at least, she used to be, I can tell; but I'd try to escape from here as soon as possible. She's clearly lost her marbles, and we have no clue what she'll do to us." He shudders, and you mumble thoughtfully.
"Flowey, how do you know all of this?"
You see Flowey stiffen slightly. He looks a bit... nervous? He narrows his eyes and sighs. "I-I've, uh, been here for awhile, y'know? Kinda, um, witnessed it all." He laughs wearily. You look at him in concern. You open your mouth to say something, but you're interrupted by Toriel's croaky call.
"Oh (Y/N)! Pie is ready~!"
