Chapter 1

Amy's Pov

Waking up to the sunlight shining on my bed, was something I had never experienced before being rescued and brought here. I slowly ran my hand over the top of my ivory comforter, letting the warm golden light roll over my fingertips. When I was a prisoner to the wizard I was held in a stone cell,  I never saw the light and the only warmth I had was a blanket that I slept on. But it wasn't much since it was the only thing on the cold stone floor. I had now been here for six months , and I still couldn't seem to break down my protective wall that I had built up around my heart. It was a defensive mechanism that I had used while being tortured by Ahazial, I would just let my body go numb and let my mind go blank.  The only person I had let even close to me is Chloe the Red Dawn Packs Luna. She was only a couple years older than me,  and had also been tortured by Ahazial so it had been easy letting her in. But with everyone else it was different,  I am so afraid to feel at all.

Hearing footsteps outside the hallway brought me out of my trance, and I quickly slid under the bed to hide. knock! knock!

I saw the bottom of the door slowly slip open before hearing a small sweet voice who I've come to recognize as Chloe. ''Amy hello . Are you in here?''she asked almost in a whisper.She was looking in my closet, her back turned to me as I slipped out from under the bed. I walked up behind her and tapped her shoulder, Chloe screamed in fright which scared me as I ran to the other side of the room and huddled into my favorite corner.. Chloe put her hands up in the air, showing me she meant no harm.  ''O Amy I'm sorry.I didn't mean to scream you just frightened me.'' she said,  helping me up off the floor.She held my hand tight as she led me over to the bed and sat down next to me.''Amy why don't you come with me.  The packs having a picnic and I want you to come.  So does Rob  and I do need help with the twins.''she rushed out in one voice. I thought about what she said and I was mortified, but I did love the twins. I nodded my head yes, and Chloe squealed before jumping up and hugging me. Know I was terrified what if I saw him, how would I handle it. 

Van 's Pov

She has the most gorgeous sky blue eyes, and her amazing golden blonde hair strikes me senseless. My mate is the most beautiful...'' Van!'' I raise my hand just in time to stop a right hook from my best friend Tyler, but missed the round house kick that sent me flying to the ground. Looking up I see my Alpha and other best friend Rob standing over me with his arms crossed and a stern look on his face. "Van what is your problem? Your head is not in the game.'' Rob exclaimed. I stood up my eyes low and neck bowed in respect to my Alpha. '' I don't know Alpha.''I replied. Being the third in command meant I was supposed to be on my toes at all times, and lately that wasnt happening.Rob approached me and placed a reassuring hand on my shoulder. ''Van I know you were thinking about her.  I know its hard seeing your mate and not being able to touch her even talk to her,  but you are not doing yourself or her any good by not concentrating during training.'' He declared. '' I know Alpha and I'll do better.''I responded. Rob dropped his hand and smiled.''Alright Come on guys. Let's go get changed we have a picnic to attend.''He stated, slapping both mine and Tyler's backs. I shook my head no. ''Yall go ahead.  I am gonna go and chill in my room.''I replied,  not intending to go to my room but to chill outside my mates room. Rob laughed.  ''Van you know she is gonna be there.'' My head shot up as I studied Rob.''Seriously "I inquired. Rob nodded his head yes.''I guess I can come for a little while.''I declared. Tyler chuckled. ''Man you are already whipped, ''he smiled.  ''Look whose talking,''I joked,slapping Tyler in the back of the head.Tyler play growled before we all took off running toward the house racing. I couldn't wait to see her. My mate.
