Chapter 2

    Jessica’s POV

I walked up to Alexis’ door. My hands were shaking for some odd reason. ‘Why am I so nervous?’ I asked to myself. About a second or so later the door opened to a big beautiful house.

“Wow Alexis. Your house is amazing.” I said with a big grin on my face.

“It’s not that amazing.” She said with a huff. She gestured me inside. I walked past her into a living room. ‘Oh. My. Fucking. God! The living room is humongous.

“Are you ready?”

I jumped a little when she said that.

“Yeah.Sorry. I was just memorized by this room.”

“Why? There is nothing special about it.” She asked.

“I don’t know.” I said honestly.

“Come on.” She said while grabbing my hand and leading me down the hallway. We stopped right in front of the last door on the right. I assumed it was her room. I was right. She opened the door revealing a room with darkish red walls. A little bit lighter than blood red. She also had a king size bed with black sheets. Band posters were everywhere. She Evanescence, Flyleaf, Lady Gaga, Panic! At the Disco, and Paramore. There were a few others that I didn’t know.

“Wow Alexis.” I said smirking.

 “What?”

“I didn’t know you liked Lady Gaga.”

“I do. She is very attractive.” She said while giving me an amazing smile. For some reason my knees got a little weak.

     Alexis’ POV

I told Jessica to get her Algebra II stuff out so we could study. I went down to the kitchen and grabbed two bottles of water and some potato chips. I walked back upstairs and saw Jessica looking at my pictures of my mom and I. My mom had died about a year ago. I’m still not over it completely. My father was kind and supporting but he always seemed distant. It’s like he was there but wasn’t.

“Who is that in this picture?” She asked pointing at my mother.

“That’s my mom. S… she died about a year ago.” I said tears starting to well up in my eyes. I don’t cry that often. The only time I’ve ever cried was when I went to my mother’s funeral, and when I think about her.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t know.” She said looking at my, eyes filled with pity.

“It’s fine. It’s just kind of hard,” I said while wiping the tears away.” Let’s get started on our studying!” I said sarcastically, also trying to lighten the mood.

“T…. that… . was…. funny.. as…. Hell.” Jessica said in between fits of laughter.

“It wasn’t that funny, Jessica.” I said laughing a little bit too.

“Y….. yes... it was.”

“Fine, you win. It was absolutely hilarious.” I said with a bit of sarcasm seeping into my voice.

“Yes, it was.” She said with an absolutely gorgeous smile. I could help but smile.

“Okay. Now we really need to start studying.” I laughed slightly.
