Blushing

"Dude the joker is so much cooler than the scarecrow." I say as I grab my back pack from the desk and put it on.
"No fucking way dude! Scarecrow is scarier and can distort your mind pretty much. I think it's pretty sick."
"Okay you are right, scarecrow can do that and he is scary but joker is more insane and I don't know. I like him better. We can all have our opinions Ty. You're such a nerd!" I say pushing him into the locker.
"Hey! Since you pushed me now you have to give me a piggy back ride all the way to the cafeteria." Tyler laughs and nudges me. I look over at him and smile.
"Fine. Get on."
Tyler hops on my shoulders and I sprint down the hall. Tyler laughs.
"Hey no running in the hall!" The principle says.
I stop running and Tyler hops off.
"Dang it. We were so close to the cafeteria!"
He gives me a high five and we laugh. I look past him and see her. My ex. She's staring at me and I don't know how to look away.
"Sam! Are you listen-" he stops talking and turns around.
"Oh shit it's Sarah." He grabs my hand and drags me into the janitors closet.
"Sam listen to me, it's okay. She's not going to hurt you anymore. Not while I'm around okay? You guys broke up four months ago. You can't go back to her. She's an evil bitch. Are you okay?"
I look at him and try to speak but nothing comes out. Instead I cry. He grabs me and hugs me until I stop crying.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to-"
He cuts me off and smiles.
"Hey, don't ever be sorry. This is why I'm your best friend. I'm here for you, you're here for me. That's how it works. I love you."
"I love you too."
"Okay good, now I'll give you a ride to the cafeteria. We just need to make sure Ms. Lang doesn't see."
I laugh and hop on his back. He sprints to the lunch line and I get off.
"What are you gonna get today princess bubblegum?" I laugh.
He always calls me that. I look at all the food options. Gross.
"Hm I don't know everything is always disgusting. What about you Finn the human?" We both laugh. Our stupid adventure time references always crack us up.
"I'll have the bean and cheese burrito and an apple please!"
I say to the lunch lady. She glares at me. She must really hate her job. She hates everyone.
"I'll have the same." Tyler says
We walk over to an open table and sit down.
"Hey josh is over there. Josh!"
He yells across the table.
"Tyler no. Please don't."
I say nervously and he laughs at me.
"Oooo Sam your blushinggggg."
He says and giggles.
"You are such a dick." I say and he laughs again.
"Hey guys!" Josh says as he smiles at me. I smile back. My god he is so beautiful.
"What's up spooky?" I say. Taking a drink of my water and Josh takes Tyler's burrito and takes a bite.
"Hey!" Tyler yells. We all laugh and he gives it back.
"Well I just wanted to know if my two favorite people were going to Brendon's kickback tonight?"
"Yeah we are. Sam got the boos!!" Tyler says and I nod.
"Sweet! Matty is apparently bringing a lot of weed. Thank god. I need that shit." Josh replies
"Same." Me and Tyler say in unison.
"Well I gotta go but I'll see you both later tonight." He gets up and leans over to my ear.
"You look cute when you blush." He whispers and walks away. My face flushes red again. Was he just flirting with me? Oh my.
"Oh my god what did Josh just say to you??" Tyler practically whisper screams.
"He told me I look cute when I blush." I try to say without smiling but fail.
"Not so gay anymore, huh Sam?" He chuckles and I punch him in the arm.
The bell rings and we walk to class.
"I'll pick you up at 7 to go to the kickback. Look cute for joshy." He smirks at me and runs to class.
