"Mommy, I'm tired," I said to my mom.

"Sorry Kenz, but we have to go. We can't miss pyramid," she said as we were going out the door. Maddie was already in the car. We pulled out of the driveway and headed to the studio.

I looked down at my arm. There was a bruise the size of a golf ball on my arm. I had no idea where it came from. All I knew was that this was one of the biggest that I have had, and it was number 19. I've been keeping track of how many I've gotten since the competition 3 weeks ago. I've also been really tired. I didn't  perform that well in the group dance last week, and I knew that I would be a the bottom. Before I knew it, we were at the studio.

We all walked into to Studio A and Abby was already in there. "Let's get started," Abby said. She tore off the first piece of paper. Underneath was my headshot. 'Great,' I thought. 'Let me know that I was terrible, oh wait, I already knew that.'

"Mackenzie," Abby started, "you were very lazy in the group dance. Your jumps weren't high at all and your turns were sloppy." She spoke to the rest of the girls. On top was Maddie, of course. "Maddie, you were the highest scoring junior solo in the entire competition. You beat second place by 9 points. That's outstanding!" Abby said. "This week, our group number has a very serious topic, so Mackenzie, you will not be performing in the group. However, you will have a solo with a lot of acrobatic tricks. It will be your hardest solo yet," Abby said.

I was glad to do a solo, but not a hard one. I wanted to do something easy, but Abby would never let that happen.

"Nia and Paige, you will also have solos," Abby said. "Paige, your's will be a contemporary acro dance called 'This is My Time'. Nia your's will be a musical theatre number called 'Show Off'. Maddie and Chloe, you will be performing a duet called 'You Will See the Sun Again.' I expect a clean sweep this weekend. Start stretching," Abby said, as she motioned the moms to leave.

I left Studio A to work with Gia. I walked in and I heard my music. It was really fast and energetic. That was not what I wanted to hear. "Mackenzie, your solo this week is called 'Sweeter than Fiction' and its a take on Alice in Wonderland. This dance is very cute and fast, so your acting is key," Gia said.

"Okay," I said disappointedly, looking at the golf ball bruise. Gia looked at it too.

"What happened Kenz?" she asked.

"I have no idea," I replied. "They just, like, appear. I have another one here and here and here," I said as I showed her the other ones on my arms and legs.

"That's not good Kenz. Have you told your mom or Abby?" Gia asked.

"I've tried but my mom tells me every time that it's just a bruise, and Abby doesn't care," I replied as a tear fell down my cheek.

"She cares Kenz," Gia replied and hugged me. "After your rehearsal, let's go tell your mom."

"But, I'm tired," I said back.

"You don't have to show Abby today, so I'll go easy on you,"Gia said to me. "Now, let's get as much done as we can."
