I wake up to the annoying sound of my alarm on my phone. I realize it is August 25, the first day of school. It is 5:20 but I hit snooze anyway.

*5 minutes later*

My alarm goes off at 5:25 and I really want to hit snooze again, but I know I shouldn't. I get up and make my bed, still feeling half asleep. I go into the bathroom to take a shower. Once I get out of the shower, I blow dry my wet hair and then straighten it, not to mention that my hair is long, puffy, curly, and overall just hard to handle, and I hate it. I get dressed into my undergarments, skinny jeans and my dark blue shirt. I put on socks and my converse that aren't that dirty. I put my makeup on not too heavy like most girls do. I check my Instagram and I text my friends back at my old school. I do miss them, but I don't miss that school. I have some friends at my new school but I had a lot more at my old one. I see that it's already 7:00 so I grab my bookbag and everything else I need, and I go downstairs.

I see Jane eating cereal at the table looking at her phone. My mom has already left for work a few minutes ago, but left a note that said,

"Have a great day girls.
- Mom."

I grab some cereal and sit at the table where Jane is sitting. I look on my Instagram feed and see that my one of my friends got a new boyfriend.

"Ugh," I say in disgust.

"What," Jane says with a straight face still looking at her phone.

"It's just that my friend from got a boyfriend right after she broke up with her last one." She hasn't really hung out with her friends including me since she started to like boys. But that's her fault.

"Of course she did," my sister says, rolling her eyes. Jane knows about her because I talk about her getting a boyfriend almost every 3 months daily, and Jane's Instagram feed sometimes has that friend with a picture with some boy with the caption saying, "Love you so much babe," or some other cheesy, cringey saying, and then they break up the next month. I don't like the "couple" kind of thing because honestly, who has time for all of that lovey crap. That or I'm just jealous that that will never happen to me.

Once I was done with my cereal, I put my dishes in the dish washer and went upstairs to brush my teeth.

"Y/n!" Let's go!" Jane yelled to me. It was already 7:30, so Jane drove us to school.
