Auxilium, Solus Sum...

Prologue

Lucia's p.o.v.

Today is the day, we get to meet Grandma. She is going to teach us the basics of magic. I suppose I should explain who and what they are..

100 years ago a new species was created by a power hungry human, they had one purpose. To kill. The species had magical powers like a witch but didn't need spell books and potions nor fimilars. These species even had their own language though most chose to learn the human languages.

One night however the species rebelled against their human creator and a war was started. A war that went under radar, undocumented. The humans were defeated, losing land and people.

50 years later the human and the species integrated, the humans unaware of the species they excepted into their community. For years after the species had fall into old stories grandparents told and songs sung on the day the war was won. That date became a holiday to the surviving families of the species that was later named Animalium Magicis which is Latin for Magical Creatures.

This family consists of the grandma Eleanor, the father Lucin, the mother Helana, the daughter Lucia and the son Tallen. the father and grandma are, shall we say, pure bloods. The mother is a half blood making Lucia and Tallen half bloods as well. However pure bloods maybe a full Animalium Magicis, half bloods are more powerful and rare; being killed for their magic or being seen as a threat by hunters.

So yeah that's what they are... I run up to grandma, Tallen following behind.
"Grandma!!" I say as she walks up the garden path. She smiles before looking up towards the roof, she jestures for us to stop. I skid to a stop, grabbing Tallen's hand, my father runs out the house and starts to pulls us back. Then grandma start to fall, something is sticking out of her chest.
"Lucia take your brother and go to your mother!" My father yells as something is fired at us. As me and Tallen run towards the house, Tallen trips and gets hit with a bullet. I start crying as he smiles up at me.
"Go to mama.." he says before closing his eyes. I reluctantly let go of his hand and run to my mother. I hug her as I hear her scream out my father's and brother's names.

Someone approaches from behind me.
"Give me the girl, Helana." A female demands.
"No!!" My mother cries.
"Your choice." The voice chuckles, pulling me away from my mother. The person shoots my mother in the head.
"Mother!!" I cry as the person drags me away from her and my home. "Let me go!!"
"I don't think so. You are important for my experiments!"
"Get your hands off of me!!" I yell and the person hits me.
"Shut up you ungrateful child."
I cry as she takes me away from what I know.
